Krone presents new LED lighting for its vehicle range. The focus is on a newly developed round light and LED light strips for cargo area lighting. The systems contribute to safety in traffic and during loading and unloading.

‘With the new lighting systems, we are consistently pursuing our goal of harmonising functionality, economy and design,’ explains Georg Bergmann, product expert at Krone Trailer. ‘Especially when it comes to safety-relevant components such as vehicle lighting, it is important to have well-thought-out technology that works reliably in everyday use and at the same time offers added value for our customers.’

The new Krone round light replaces the previous three-chamber round light. The three central light functions – tail light, brake light and indicator – are no longer separate, but combined in a single light chamber. These functions are supplemented by separate reversing lights and triangular reflectors. The rear fog light is located in the licence plate module. Intelligent electronics on the circuit board eliminate the need for additional ballasts or encoder boxes for flashing side marker lights.

The lens ensures uniform illumination of the tail light. A design cut-out reveals the typical Krone branding. ‘Thanks to optimised thermal management, the new LED light defrosts at least as quickly as previous filament variants,’ adds Georg Bergmann. The outer lens and the housing are glued and additionally screwed together invisibly. The connection is made via a 7-pin DIN bayonet on the rear of the housing. This achieves a high level of tightness, which reliably protects the electronics from dust and water in accordance with IP6K9K and ensures a long service life.

Krone also uses new LED lighting in the cargo area. The LED light strips, which can be selected on one or both sides, produce uniform, bright illumination over the entire length of the trailer. A single light strip provides a light output – measured at the centre of the cargo area – that corresponds to approximately two work lights from the previous portfolio. The LEDs are arranged at regular intervals over a distance of around 12.5 metres and produce a homogeneous light pattern that significantly facilitates loading processes.

The robust design with PU sealing complies with protection class IP6K9K and allows the cargo area to be cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner without any problems. As the light strips are fully integrated into the outer frame, there are no restrictions on the cargo area, no additional screw connections and no risk of damage.

With the new LED lighting, Krone Trailer is underlining its commitment to the continuous development of safety, ease of use and cost-effectiveness. The new rear light and LED light strips offer durable, energy-efficient solutions that meet the requirements of modern transport logistics.
