Lippstadt, February 13, 2014. Light expert HELLA is demonstrating the breadth of its innovative LED lighting for construction and mining vehicles at this year's Conexpo. Visitors to Conexpo can see the light output of HELLA LED headlamps for themselves from March 4th to 8th in the Platinum Hall (Booth 90106). An impressive example: The entire trade show booth is being lit by four high-performance HypaLUME worklights. HELLA is also presenting additional highlights, such as the world's first full LED combination headlamp, the C140 LED, and the Q90 LED worklight, which meets the increasing demands for reduced weight and freedom of design with its plastic cooling elements. All of the headlamps being presented are based on energy-efficient LED technology, making them incredibly durable and robust. Lower power consumption compared to conventional halogen headlamps uses less fuel and reduces the strain on the alternator.

World's first full LED combination headlamp, the C140 LED

The C140 LED combination headlamp is making its world premiere. It is the world's first combination headlamp that implements all of the lighting functions using LED technology. The incredibly stable and impact-resistant cast aluminum housing, lens made of unbreakable plastic and special heavy-duty bracket mean the C140 LED can be used even in the toughest conditions. It is also resistant to vibrations, mechanical impacts, dust and moisture, allowing it to provide the best lighting performance at all times even in the most challenging environments. The special free-form reflector together with the LED light source provides significantly better lighting than conventional headlamps with halogen bulbs. The white light color is similar to daylight, allowing fatigue-free work at night. The headlamps are made to work with 12 and 24 volt vehicle electric systems and meet the requirements of both ECE and SAE.

HELLA to display HypaLUME as second highlight

HELLA is expanding its range of worklights to the next level with the HypaLUME. This headlamp provides perfect lighting in any work situation with more than 20,000 lumens and several illumination variants. Measuring 19.8” x 14.9” x 6.5” (500 x 380 x 170 millimeters), the HypaLUME is ideal for use in mining or heavy construction machinery. Visitors can see the optimal light output for themselves—a total of four HypaLUME units are providing the perfect lighting at the HELLA trade show booth.

Q90 LED sets benchmarks in terms of design and weight reduction

HELLA is setting another trend with the new Q90 LED high-performance worklight with plastic cooling elements, which is offering new opportunities with an eye towards design and weight reduction. Unlike worklights with plastic housings available on the market to date, the new high-performance LED worklight means HELLA is able to attain or even exceed light output comparable to xenon technology, even in incredibly small designs. This involves using special heat-conducting plastics instead of aluminum cooling elements. These plastics perfectly dissipate the heat from the LEDs, ensuring a long design life. Complete corrosion resistance provides a substantial advantage over aluminum. The Q90 LED worklights also weigh less and provide the best conditions for flexible solutions in terms of design. In conjunction with the newly developed fiberglass-reinforced plastic brackets, the high-performance LED worklights with plastic cooling elements from HELLA offer even more reliability during day-to-day use.

Other highlights from HELLA include numerous innovations from the worklight product range; the Ultra Beam LED rounds out the successful Ultra Beam product family. Moreover, HELLA is presenting new product series from the world of worklights for attachment and installation, including an ultra-compact 50 millimeter LED headlamp and a 90 millimeter LED module.

In addition, HELLA is providing information on innovative electric and electronic solutions, interior lamps, warning lights and beacons at its trade show booth.
