Hiab, part of Cargotec, introduces the new MULTILIFT Futura 18 skiploader, which meets the requirements of heavy duty skiploader operators in the industry. This latest launch completes Hiab's MULTILIFT Futura product range that now consists of equipment with 8-, 12- and 18-tonne capacity. The new heavy duty skiploader was introduced to the marketplace at a launch event organised in Fulda, Germany.

"Common for all MULTILIFT Futura skiploaders is that they are designed to deliver more payload due to their smart construction. This optimises the total cost of ownership," says Henri Janhonen, Director of Sales and Product Business Management for Demountables at Hiab.

The new Futura 18 model, which has carrying capacity to lift 18 tonnes in a single trip, offers the operator increased productivity with decreased fuel consumption as fewer trips to haul the same load is needed. The EvoLight steel construction helps to maximise the payload without compromising strength. "We also paid a lot of attention in our R&D to easy service and maintenance to maximise our customers' uptime. The key components are easy to access and conduct in routine inspections," says Pauliina Kunvik, Director of Product Portfolio Management for Demountables at Hiab.

The safety options such as hydraulic side stops, hydraulic container lock and controls combined with safety interlocks provides safety both for the MULTILIFT Futura 18 operator as well as his or her surroundings. "For us in Hiab, safety always comes first. We have the same safety features in the Futura 18 skiploader as in our other Futura models to help eliminate needless risks," continues Pauliina Kunvik.

"The launch of MULTILIFT Futura 18 and the completion of the range makes us a strong player on the global skiploader market. We have taken into account our customers' wishes with our unique features and benefits, service offers and safety focus. We have taken the lead in skiploaders and continue to be the pioneer of this industry," concludes Henri Janhonen.
