Holistic Logistics Solutions from Jungheinrich

From May 19 to 23, Jungheinrich is presenting its intralogistics solutions expertise at CeMAT 2014 in Hanover, Germany. At the Jungheinrich stand under the EXPO canopy, visitors will find numerous intelligent solutions for deploying industrial trucks to increase the efficiency of warehouse processes. Featured solutions include wireless data transmission, the stacker guidance system, the logistics interface and the warehouse management system Jungheinrich WMS. A special highlight involves the interaction of automated materials handling equipment in complex warehouses. Jungheinrich is the only truck manufacturer to dedicate a separate exhibition pavilion to logistics systems.

Among the attractions for trade visitors, the Hamburg-based intralogistics specialist will be demonstrating the ETXa live, in operation. This is an automated man-down high reach forklift. Numerous off-the-shelf options for this vehicle are designed for automated operations. These include the on-board charger or various load-carrying devices, such as the telescopic or swivel traverse forks.

Optional components, such as automated control computers, fine positioning systems, cam control and centring and contour control systems for loading units allow the full automation of this vehicle. Using wireless technology, the ETXa communicates with higher-level guidance and control systems. An induction guidance system ensures the safe and reliable travel of this fully automated truck around the warehouse.

In addition the ETXa from Jungheinrich can be easily switched from fully automatic operation to manual or semi-automatic mode. Moreover, the progressive, gradual automation of existing manually operated trucks can be implemented on request. Automated industrial trucks from Jungheinrich have been operating successfully for many years now at various customers in different industries.

Automated Solution for Standardised Transport Tasks

The automated solutions from Jungheinrich include the Auto Pallet Mover (APM). The intralogistics specialist from Hamburg is showcasing its APM EKS 210a at CeMAT 2014. This is a driverless transport system which can carry loads of up to 1,500 kilograms and is ideally suited for regular routine tasks and standardised transport orders, for instance, from incoming goods or production to a transfer station or rack system. The Auto Pallet Mover can be easily integrated with the existing warehouse management system and linked via the Jungheinrich logistics interface to all higher-level ERP systems. This driverless truck uses a laser navigation system and reflectors to move around the warehouse with millimetre accuracy. The modular system makes for the easy and flexible inclusion of other trucks.

Everything Under a Single Umbrella

Years ago, Jungheinrich made the transition from truck manufacturer to production-based intralogistics service and solutions provider. The firm relies on its considerable experience and is a leader in logistics systems. At the beginning of 2014 the Hamburg-based intralogistics specialist established Jungheinrich Logistics GmbH to unite the Logistics Systems business line with the Warehouse and System Trucks business line under a single umbrella. The new company is based in Moosburg. “By taking this step we have pooled our diverse logistic systems expertise and improved our traction on the market as a supplier of complete logistics solutions," says Richard Brandstetter, Managing Director of Jungheinrich Logistics GmbH.

Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is an intralogistics service and solution provider with manufacturing operations, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, logistics systems, services and advice. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
