Increasing demand for space at Air Cargo Europe 2013

Air Cargo Europe just keeps on growing. In 2013, this established part of transport logistic will be taking up an entire hall, with 11,000 square meters of exhibition space. Already demand for space in this dedicated section is higher than at the last event. The world´s largest trade event for air cargo takes place from June 4 to 7, 2013, within the framework of transport logistic.

Over 150 companies from 30 countries have so far registered to take part. Among them are the airports of Amsterdam, Atlanta, Brussels, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Incheon, Köln-Bonn, Leipzig, Liège, Linz, Miami, Munich, Paris, Prague and Sharjah. The airlines taking part include Air China Cargo, American Airlines, Cargolux, Emirates Skycargo, Etihad, Lufthansa Cargo, MNG Airlines, Qatar Airways, Saudi Airlines Cargo, Skyteam Cargo, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Volga Dnepr. Aircraft manufacturers, like Boeing and EADS, are also represented at the show. In total 200 companies from the air cargo sector are expected to participate.

On the second day of Air Cargo Europe – Wednesday, June 5, 2013 – the World Air Cargo Awards will be presented. At a gala dinner, the British-based trade journal Air Cargo Week will be presenting the awards in ten categories, among them for best airport, best airfreight forwarder and best cargo airline.

The Air Cargo Europe exhibition will be accompanied by the Air Cargo Europe Conference 2013, 6th International Conference for the Global Air Cargo Industry, taking place also on Wednesday, from 10:00 to 12:30. The opening theme is "Moving with the times", which looks at how new information and communication technologies are impacting on value-added chains, business models and society. Following on from this are two panel discussions exploring in greater depth individual aspects of the opening theme.

Under the motto of "In search of innovation", and under the chairmanship of Bernd Maresch, founder of the communications agency Hans Mars, experts will be discussing innovations and their place in the air cargo sector. To what extent technological developments are necessary in the air cargo sector and how these innovations can be encouraged, are just some of the points under discussion.

In the second session, a discussion entitled "Getting the message", chaired by Simon Keeble, Publisher – Group Media Products at the A-Z Group, will focus on information exchange and transparency in the transport services sector. What information will cargo recipients need in the next few years and how well is the sector geared up for this?

Attendance at the conference is included in the price of a ticket for transport logistic.
