International Visitors’ Lounge gears up for busy time; more events at Agritechnica Plaza

The world stage is set for the global agri-machinery sector to come together in Hanover this November. A focal point for foreign show-goers at Agritechnica is the International Visitors’ Lounge located at the new “Agritechnica Plaza” in the DLG-Pavilion 32.

Often one of the busiest places of the show, anybody who is “somebody” in the world of farming is sure to drop by the International Visitors’ Lounge at some point during the seven-day trade event (8-14 November) to make use of the array of essential services available there, meet key contacts, or just take a break and relax from the rigours of the show – the world’s largest international event for the agri-mechanisation sector.

Besides complimentary refreshments, visitors this year can also take advantage of many other practical business services in the Lounge.

“We’re seeing global visitor numbers increasing at each Agritechnica, with the result that the International Visitor’s Lounge has become one of the busiest and hottest spots during Agritechnica,” says Annette Reichhold, DLG’s marketing manager for the international lounge.

“To cater to the needs of foreign visitors, we aim to provide an ever more conducive and friendly ‘pit-stop’ for them to find information, gather material on the show and exhibitors, catch up with contacts, have a quick coffee or tea or just have a rest.”

Practical amenities and services at the lounge will include various services such as transport and travel advice, and directions to local hotels and destinations. International visitors can also book meeting rooms for a limited period of time.

“Trade events are about business but also about hospitality,” adds Reichhold. “With over 100,000 visitors travelling long distances to come to Hanover specifically for Agritechnica, some of whom are first-timers, we want to make sure that everyone feels at home and welcomed here.”

Adding to the congenial atmosphere, representatives from DLG will also be on hand to answer questions about the event and the organisation, as well as to chat and offer practical information on Agritechnica or Hanover.

A Muslim prayer room is available in Hall 7 and a general chapel in CC.

Agritechnica Plaza

Located at the centre of the exhibition grounds, the "Agritechnica Plaza" fulfils a role that is exactly that – as the focal point and meeting place for Agritechnica. The Plaza will host “Campus & Career”, the new segment dedicated to recruitment and mid-career transitions, as well as an area for research topics in agriculture and the DLG and International Visitor’s Lounge.

At the open-air, canopy covered area by the Plaza, the DLG will present four pavilions showcasing a slew of multi-faceted offerings. For instance, one of these pavilions will feature major tractor models that have undergone the DLG PowerMix Test, with the new "DLG-approved" test mark prominently displayed.

Pavilion 32 is home to the International Visitor’s Lounge, providing an informative meeting point for both German and international trade visitors as well as DLG members. Visitors can pick up information sheets showing the latest results of the DLG tractor tests, learn about important trends relating to soil management and find out about DLG membership.

At Pavilion 34, visitors can get acquainted with the history on agricultural machinery with a specially curated show featuring DLG’s testing expertise on a range of historic tractors. Held in conjunction with the over 100 years of tests conducted by the DLG, this special segment will also contain one of the largest databases of historical agricultural engineering that visitors are invited to browse through.

Pavilions 33 and 34 are all about jobs and careers. "Campus & Career" invites visitors to keep abreast on topics related to education, study, work and training, and science and research in the field of agricultural sciences.
