Interroll’s new modular conveyor - an innovative solution with a completely modular design By launching its new conveyor platform, Interroll is reacting to the growing importance of efficient material flow to the business world.

The main element of the new platform is a robust, modular system that incorporates the various key elements of conveying systems and can be assembled to form a complete material flow solution that renders the services needed. Thanks to the modular design of the platform, Interroll can also guarantee quick delivery times so that newly planned systems can be realised, installed, and put into operation extremely quickly. The modules are preassembled for the most part to simplify the installation process on site. Independently adjustable side guides, steplessly adjustable stands, integrated crossbars for electrical conduit and universally usable spaces for attachment parts make installation even easier.

Interroll also offers an extremely user-friendly planning tool to simplify project planning. The new planning software “Interroll Layouter” gives equipment manufacturers and system integrators the opportunity to virtually assemble and calculate a conveyor system that meets the respective demands in advance.

The modules that make up the new platform are compatible with previous Interroll modules; therefore customers can easily extend or change their existing systems by simply integrating new modules. This also guarantees full flexibility for existing customers.

The new system was subjected to the hardest possible endurance and performance tests for 10,000 hours to ensure the usual Interroll quality. Customers can therefore feel confident from the very beginning that their system will provide them with excellent long-term performance.

Just a few of the new platform’s features

Roller conveyors that employ two different drive technologies. On the one hand, the proven 24 volt drives can be used to control the individual zones and, on the other hand, a 400 volt flat belt drive. A 24 volt actuator that can be controlled using any of Interroll’s control units is used to control the zones.

High Performance Divert (HPD): This is a swivel rail outfeed conveyor that features an innovative swivelling mechanism. It is driven by a 24 volt drive; however a 400 volt relief version is also available as an alternative. The HPD element’s variability is its biggest advantage. It is flexibly positionable. In fact, all one needs to do is loosen four screws. Moreover, it is extendable in cassettes (each 120 mm). In addition, different angles can be selected by using ITRL control cards. Its high throughput of up to 3,600 units per hour represents yet another advantage.

Belt Transfer for the flexibility that intralogistics in particular demands: “on-the-fly” discharge, extremely fast belt changes, flexible positioning (here too, only four screws need to be loosened) and, last but not least, flexible belt positions make for a user-friendly overall concept that can easily be adapted to meet changing demands. Its extreme robustness because of the swivelling mechanism and easy maintenance from on top due to how easy it is to remove rollers are other positive aspects.

Curve constructions with various systems: The versions Belt Curve Light, with a closed belt, ZPA, 24 volt drive and a fixed side guide, proven 24 volt technology with RollerDrive and ZPA, as well as a flat belt driven 400 volt drive, without an accumulation function, from a straight line or an additional head drive are all available for use. The flexible side guide can be used for consistently narrow roller conveyors. This construction is suited for use with goods that weigh up to 50 Kilo.

Conveyor belt as a power feeder without an additional drive, belt changing from the top, compact centre drive as well as a tensioning station that can be used separately in centre drive. This robust version is perfectly suited for tough permanent use.

Interroll’s hygienic Drum Motors Interroll will also exhibit integrated drive solutions and showcase its Synchronous Drum Motor. Developed specifically for the food processing and packaging sectors, this is the most powerful and eco-friendly energy efficient hygienic conveyor belt drive ever developed by Interroll - providing a one drive system to suit all needs and speeds.

Manufactured with EHEDG approval, as well as FDA recognition and an IP69K protection rating, the Interroll Synchronous Drum motor requires basically no maintenance and can be installed and operated in wet and high pressure wash down applications.

Interroll has developed the Interroll Multiprofile, a new profile for its asynchronous drum motors and synchronous drum motors that feature frequency converters, which can be used to drive various conveyor belts from different manufacturers using only one Interroll Premium Hygienic PU Profile. This translates into higher flexibility for customers because they can replace belts without having to replace the drum motor. This reduces the time needed to retrofit and perform maintenance work on the conveyors quite significantly. Furthermore, Interroll’s Multiprofile contributes to lower storage and thus saves customers money and storage space.

The Interroll Multiprofile is manufactured using the “Interroll Premium Hygienic PU” which is also a new development. This extremely hygiene-friendly material complements the Interroll product line that meets EHEDG guidelines. The new material for rubber coating drum motors is particularly well suited for positively driven belts and is known for its extremely smooth surface that prevents bacteria from forming on the material. Besides the low noise level and its high resistance to oil, grease and chemicals, the Interroll Premium Hygienic PU also stands out due to its much lower friction.
