Interview with Mr. Su Zimeng,

For this reason, we made an exclusive interview for Mr. Su Zimeng, who expounded the improvements of BICES 2013 from the angle of the industry.

1. Look on the current situation rationally, and grab the development opportunities

The period of rational return of the industry exercised its restraints upon the over quick growth speed of construction machinery industry capacity, and also enabled the enterprises to accelerate their steps to expand its overseas businesses. Therefore, it can be regarded as a hard-won opportunity for hard skills development and innovative development. During the rational return of market, the construction machinery industry did not stop their further exploration in the aspects of technical research, transformation and updating, as the leading enterprises in the industry all have made new improvements one by one, and a lot of technical innovations have broken through some technical limitation, including pump truck of carbon fiber composite cantilever crane series and its key technologies of Zoomlion, the key technologies and industrialization of ultra-large crawler crane of XCMG, key technology research and application of hydraulic drive grader of Sany and Chang’an University, etc. In the long term, the economic development of our country is in the period of important strategic opportunities. Personally, the industry will see a new turn of rapid growth period. In the short term, as the stable growth has been enhanced and relevant capital construction project has been started, which releases a series of positive signals for construction machinery industry positively related to investment, the trend negative growth for most products has been turned around since September 2012. Stimulated by domestic markets, the enterprises successively broadened their overseas markets and built their marketing service system. In the first half year, the value of import and export of construction machinery industry reached up to US$12.576 billion, increased by 5.01% on the year-on-year basis, in which, the value of import was US$ 3.336 billion, decreased by 36.2% on year-on-year basis; the value of export was US$ 9.24 billion, increased by 36.9% on year-on-year basis; and the favorable balance of trade reached up to US$ 5.9 billion, with the increase of US$ 4.38 billion on the year-on-year basis regarding the last year. When the foreign-funded enterprises think highly of the economy in China, and actively make arrangement for the construction machinery industry in China, some powerful enterprises in China get down to overseas merger and acquisition. Since Zoomlion officially merged CIFA in Italy in 2008, Sany, LiuGong and XCMG also launched the merger projects this year. The rational adjustment made for its solid foundation, high-end projects, and transformation and upgrading with obvious results in the industry have laid a good foundation for a new round of rapid growth of enterprises.

2.It is a strategic opportunity for the industry as well as the future of the exhibition

Construction machinery industry is a sunrise industry of China. The industry shows more difficulty in the concentration ratio of production and access. In the future, the construction machinery market will realize high-end and intelligent development, and its operation will be more and more standard. The construction machinery enterprises shall, in the pursuit of endogenous growth and innovative development, meet the opportunities and challenges of the future market with the international vision. And the industry will see a stable development. Also, all Chinese shall be proud of the construction machinery industry in China. Looking back the development course of the industry, it has obtained great achievements from eight aspects including concentration ratio of production, scientific and technological progress, self-independent innovation, asset reorganization, industrial structure optimization, etc. since the establishment.

“After the regional development strategies and strategies for development priority zones were carried out, such as, National development plan during “the 12th Five-Year Plan” period, strategic emerging industry, West China Development, etc., the economic development will surely be boosted to raise the demand.” Solve the problems like the unbalanced development of economy, and rapidly promote the industrialization, urbanization, informatization and agricultural modernization, so as to drive the market demand directly. Continuous deepening of the various reform measures will further stimulate the vitality of markets. China Construction Machinery Association will also lead the industry to make progress and then maintain stability, ensure the moderate increase, study the relevant policy document, promote the transition and upgrading, and then improve the core competitiveness. And he expected that the enterprises could grab a new round of opportunities of rapid growth after the rational adjustment of the industry and cold period of market demand.
