JLG continues its tradition of innovation at 2015 Intermat Show

JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company and a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers, has been committed for more than 40 years to helping rental companies and fleet owners drive bottom-line profitability with machines that are dependable and versatile. JLG’s newest lift and access equipment continues that tradition with innovation for tomorrow.

“Using input from our customers and the market, JLG is delivering machines with advanced technologies, simplified maintenance and unrivaled reliability,” says Karel Huijser, JLG´s General Manager and Vice President for EMEA, “Our machines are backed with outstanding training, service and aftermarket support, ensuring our customers enjoy the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) in the industry.”

“JLG’s founder John L. Grove invented the first aerial work platform (AWP) in 1970. Since then the company has delivered countless first offs in the lift and access industry. To name a few: in 1981 we introduced optional oscillating axles on many of our products as the market demanded improved terrain ability and manoeuvrability. Driven by the need for going higher and further, JLG in 1991 introduced the tallest boom lift in the world –the 150HAX- and in 2014 we did it again, with the world’s tallest self-propelled AWP, the 56-metre 1850AJ.”

Today that spirit of innovation continues with developments that meet the needs of an ever-changing marketplace

  • Higher utilisation – which means equipment can be used indoors or out, in the most challenging environments. An example of this is the H340AJ boom lift is the industry’s first hybrid machine to offer full-time four-wheel drive.

  • Improved versatility – narrow doorways, sensitive environments and transportability are crucial. The X26J Plus compact crawler boom combines these features, and provides outstanding energy efficiency from rechargeable lithium batteries with extended duty cycles and a 26m working height.

  • Basic design - There is an increased demand for basic machines, like the RS line of telehandlers or the RS Series of electric scissors, which were designed expressly for the rental industry, delivering simplicity without compromise.

  • Exceptional performance – products with fast lift speeds and high platform capacity, like the new mid size boom lifts, enhance operator productivity with next-generation design and features.

  • Higher capacity and all terrain capability – the 5394RT scissor lift puts more workers and materials where they’re needed on the toughest jobsites.

What is designed into these machines will deliver immediate benefits to the industry, such as increases in operator productivity and expanded utilization. But these benefits should also be considered innovations for tomorrow, delivering lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Fleet owners need to maximize their plans for profit and growth. JLG`s TCO incorporates not only initial purchase price, but also cost to operate, cost to maintain, financing, resale value and numerous other factors to calculate the real value of equipment from acquisition through disposition.

JLG is furthering its commitment to customers with more parts, service and people in the Europe and the Middle East than ever before. Today, JLG employs approximately 100 people across the region to support the service aftermarket. Parts are distributed from an inventory of more than 30,000 items at JLG’s European Parts Distribution Center in Maasmechelen, Belgium.

From its tradition of reliability to its innovations for tomorrow, JLG helps companies in agriculture, industry, facilities maintenance, the rental industry and numerous others achieve bottom-line profitability.
