Jungheinrich plant in Landsberg, Germany is honoured for its innovativeness.
Manufacturing Excellence Award – more than 10 years as a respected benchmarking competition for best industrial practices
Dr Marc Ehrmann, top manager at Jungheinrich Landsberg plant: “This award is a confirmation of our excellent development work and of the innovative environment at Jungheinrich.”
Every year the Manufacturing Excellence Network rates the manufacturing industry’s best practices in the German-speaking countries. Supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy, the MX Award is dedicated to the principle of “Recognizing Strengths – Setting Standards”, issuing awards for industrial innovativeness. In a two-stage application process which began with a self-assessment audit and was followed by an on-site business review performed by recognized experts, the MX jury came to the conclusion that Jungheinrich Landsberg was the best company in the category of “Product Innovations”. Prizes were awarded in five categories, with an additional special prize issued. The awards ceremony took place on 11 November in the Axel Springer building in Berlin. The awards ceremony moderators consisted of Dr Inga Michler, a business reporter for the WELT Group, and jury chairperson Dr Raimund Klinkner, chairperson of the MX Board and honorary professor for production logistics at the Technical University of Berlin.
“Based on its strong competitive position, successful product innovations and a diverse range of idea generators, Jungheinrich is in front of the competition. Their completely modular product concept ensures production-oriented individualization and is a sign of intelligent solutions. The Landsberg plant is state-of-the-art, sustainable and geared to growth,” commented Dr Thomas Wimmer, President of the BVL logistics association, in a speech honouring the award winners.
Dr Marc Ehrmann from executive management at Jungheinrich Landsberg AG & Co. KG accepted the award on behalf of the company, remarking that Jungheinrich had once again proven its “leading position as a provider of intralogistics solutions by developing and introducing innovative products and solutions with a high degree of customer benefit.” He continued: “We consistently invest in research and development. The Jungheinrich culture of innovations is a firm part of the enterprise – from the inventive spirit of our company founder Dr Friedrich Jungheinrich to today’s industry-leading solutions and products.”
