Jungheinrich introduces the new electric pedestrian stacker

The new trucks from Jungheinrich are manoeuvrable and compact trucks. With their many options, they ensure even higher economic efficiency in daily applications.

Jungheinrich introduces a new electric pedestrian stacker of the EJC range in the market in summer 2012. The EJC 110/112/212 is a pedestrian truck; it can lift loads up to 1,200 kilograms, achieve heights of 4.70 metres and is exceptionally economical on short distances. The completely redesigned electric pedestrian stackers are produced at the Jungheinrich factory in Norderstedt.

“We have laid special emphasis on economic efficiency of this truck range“, says Stefan Hirt, Head of Product Management for pedestrian stackers at Jungheinrich. The main reason for the particularly high economic efficiency of the EJC is the “perfect adjustment of 3-phase AC motors to the system control developed by Jungheinrich”.

The low maintenance costs are another economic aspect of the new pedestrian stacker. There is now no need to lift the truck completely for a possible wheel change. If required, the support wheel can simply and safely be taken out from the top with only a few movements of the hand. If necessary, the service openings on the front apron of the pedestrian stacker facilitate a quick and above all cost-effective exchange of bandages.

Several options round off the “economic efficiency” topic of the EJC 110/112/212. For example, a new on board charger for short charging times during a shift – with the choice of quick charge function. The on board charger can also be used for larger batteries with capacities up to 375 ampere hours. The on board charger is enclosed according to IP 54 and this means that it is protected against dust and moisture. The EJC type 212 with on board charger can therefore also be operated in cold store. Soft and material-protecting depositing of the load is ensured on the EJC type 112/212 by automatic reduction of the lowering speed on the lower 300 millimetres.

Due to the narrow working aisle widths, the new trucks are also very good for use in confined warehouse spaces. The truck with the tiller in an upright position and the crawl speed button pressed can still be manoeuvred safely and efficiently even in particularly tight places.

Useful depositing places on the instrument cover

A number of ergonomic features were also optimised during the reconstruction of this truck class. Among these are storage spaces for pens and knives or a special document compartment to have necessary documents always at hand. “To have additional useful depositing places on the instrument cover of the truck just sounds trite to start with, but they are very important for the operator in practice”, says Stefan Hirt.
