IKEA is expanding the capacity of its Esipovo location in Russia. Currently a new distribution centre is going up in the town, which is located a little less than 50 kilometres north-west of Moscow. The Hamburg-based Jungheinrich group was appointed general contractor for all intralogistics jobs and also as systems integrator for the project. This underlines Jungheinrich’s competence as a worldwide provider of integrated system solutions.

The Jungheinrich solution consists of a 15-aisle silo-type high-bay warehouse for pallet storage, with a total of 210,000 pallet slots. Measuring 200 metres in length and 130 metres in width, the IKEA distribution centre has a height of 45 metres. Following completion in 2017 it will be logistically integrated with the various production facilities run by the IKEA Industry subsidiary.

Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is an intralogistics service and solution provider with manufacturing operations, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, logistics systems, services and advice. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
