Kalmar receives first order of empty container handlers from ANL

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, in conjunction with NTP Forklifts Australia, is proud to announce an order from ANL for six Kalmar empty container handlers. This order was booked in Cargotec's 2017 third quarter order intake with delivery scheduled for first quarter 2018.

ANL, part of the CMA CGM Group, is the third largest container shipping line in the world, operating on more than 200 shipping routes, calling 420 ports in 160 countries. This order will be the first for ANL's Altona, Melbourne site and the first order for the Australia and New Zealand region to include empty container handlers fitted with 7 high Triplex masts. This solution allows the mast to collapse into three parts to allow machines to enter, for instance, in a warehouse.

Noel Dent, General Manager Operations at ANL: "ANL is pleased to team with Kalmar for our operations at our container park in Melbourne. ANL has previous experience with Kalmar equipment in East Timor where ANL Timor operates Kalmar reachstackers finding them a very reliable and versatile piece of equipment. We are confident the new Kalmar forklifts will serve ANL well at our empty container depot in Melbourne."Kalmar Empty Container Handler

Michael Wahab, Director Mobile Equipment at Kalmar: "The new Kalmar DCG range of empty container handlers are state of the art machines, fitted with the latest in container handling technology. Load sensing hydraulics and a choice of options for greater fuel efficiency including Eco Drive Modes, Stop/Start technology and Tyre Pressure Monitoring are just some of the latest features offered to customers, making this the most reliable and robust range of empty container handlers in the market."

The Kalmar DCG80-100 range of empty container handlers offers the highest lifting and lowering rates available on the market, with dramatically reduced running costs per move, as well as longer servicing intervals. Cummins engines will power all machines and will also feature the Kalmar SmartFleet system which enables performance-boosting remote monitoring and reporting.

The ANL fleet has also been fitted with a container handling package specifically tailored to improve driver comfort and safety. Package features include automatic speed limits applied when handling containers and excellent all-round visibility through cameras fitted to the spreader and mast, as well the reverse cameras and warning system.
