Kögel shows off its new Multi semi-trailer for building materials

Kögel presents the new Kögel Multi at the bauma 2013 in Munich. This extremely flexible trailer is particularly suitable for the building materials transport business and for weather-resistent freight. This platform-type semi-trailer is fitted out with a reinforced chassis for the particular demands of the construction sector. The standard 800 millimetre high aluminium drop sides can be simply left hanging depending on the use you are putting the trailer to.

The new Kögel Multi is thus predestined for the transport of such varied building materials as steel mats, palleted goods and concrete components. The Multi has a 1,200 millimetre high steel frontal wall with volume stanchions, and is available with an optional five pairs of foldable 600, 800 or 1,000 millimetre high aluminium drop sides with tie rods. The foldable back wall has three tie rods, T-bolts and a foldable step on its inner wall. For use on sites with a shortage of space, Multi is also available with an optional articulated self-steering axle.

Flexible deployment: with and without drop sides

For transport with a free floor, for extra-wide loads like parts of a prefabricate house, steel frames, construction steel mats or concrete plates the drop sides and insertable stakes can be removed quickly and easily without the need for tools. As storage box is integrated for stowing ten drop sides, the back wall panel and for all insertable and fold-down stakes. To prevent the drop sides from being scratched on loading and unloading, the mounting device is provided with a protection overlay.

Optimal load-securing, even with extra-wide loads

Even such challenging freight requiring extra-wide loading can be carried by the Multi's loading platform. To ensure a variable, appropriate, fast and safe loading of long and short materials, there are eight stanchion socket battens integrated into the loading platform flush with the floor. Between the external frame and the left and right-hand side supports, each side piece has five stake pockets, while between each of the central supports in the middle of the vehicle are ten stake pockets. In the Vario-Fix steel cavity external framework there are 13 pairs of lashing rings with 4,000 kilograms of tensile force per ring, and the front steel wall has two pairs of lashing rings. Also available as an option are eleven pairs additional pairs of rings and new the MODULASI load-securing-system. Naturally, the Kögel Multi has a certificate for load securing of construction materials in accordance with DIN EN 12642 XL. Also available optionally are extendible red/white retro-reflective warning panels for front and rear and rotating warning lights for extra-wide loads.

Cathodic dip-paint coating: long-term corrosion protection

As with all Kögel vehicles, the entire vehicle frame of the Kögel Multi is given long-lasting protection against corrosion by Nano Ceramic Technology and cathodic dip-paint coating, supplemented with UV painting.
