KTEG introduces the 23U-6 MTC mini excavator at Bauma 2025, showcased on the Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV stand.
-
The 23U-6 MTC is highly versatile, supporting heavier front attachments and featuring a short-tail swing radius, ideal for urban construction and civil engineering projects.
-
Lighter than the Hitachi ZX26U-6, the 23U-6 MTC is easier to transport on a 3.5-tonne trailer with attachments.
-
The model shares components with the Hitachi ZX20U and ZX26U, including a comfortable cab, rear wiper, defroster, and standard LED work lights.

The 23U-6 MTC is part of eight new mini and compact KTEG models unveiled at Bauma 2025, highlighting the successful partnership between Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. and Kiesel Technology Entwicklung GmbH.
Making its European debut on the Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) stand at Bauma 2025 is the KTEG 23U-6 mini excavator. Highly versatile, the 23U-6 MTC can be used with heavier front attachments than other machines in its class. When combined with its short-tail swing radius, this makes it ideal for a wider range of applications, such as urban construction and civil engineering projects – particularly where space is limited – as well as landscaping.
In addition, the 23U-6 MTC is more lightweight than the Hitachi ZX26U-6, which makes it easier to transport on a 3.5-tonne trailer with attachments. Components, such as the boom and arm, upper structure, and undercarriage, are similar to the Hitachi ZX20U, while the comfortable cab is the same as the Hitachi ZX26U. The rear wiper and defroster enhance the operator’s view in difficult working conditions, and the LED work lights come as standard to provide excellent visibility on the job site.
“This versatile model demonstrates the KTEG philosophy to focus on added value for customers,” says Harald Thum, KTEG Managing Director. “Positioned between the Hitachi ZX19-6 and ZX26U-6, it’s an important addition to our machine portfolio, as it gives contractors a greater choice of solutions to meet their specific project needs.”
