A new generation of mounted reversible ploughs

Kverneland has been working on a new range of mounted reversible ploughs for the last 5 years. This new generation of Kverneland ploughs targets a growing segment of the market: 5-6 furrow ploughs for tractors up to 206 kW / 280 hp. The innovations for the Kv 2500 serie ploughs benefit the framers/contractors working life: the perfect ploughed field in the most efficient and easy manner.

Let us comment the Kv 2500 serie by looking at important plough parts and systems:

Headstock and turnover mechanism: clever

Cat. III

• Turnover cylinder assembled horizontally. The headstock mast can then be hinged during transport without disconnecting the tractor’s top link.

• Hollow main shaft (140 mm outer diameter). The hoses and cables are fitted through the shaft in order to ensure maximum protection.

• Turnable cross shaft (max. 45° mutual offset during transport) for safe and easy transport. The plough behaves like a trailer. It is then easily fixed in center position for ploughing.

• Hinged headstock mast. Save time: the top link of the tractor remains connected during transport.

• Tool box on both sides. Very convenient: store your locking pins during transport.

Main frame: robust

• One-piece, induction heated treated main frame (120 x 200 x 6,4 mm) for optimal durability.

• Underbeam clearance = 80 cm, for both shearbolt and auto-reset legs.

• Interbody clearance = 85 or 100 cm.

• 4 to 6 furrows; extendable by one body (to max. 6- furrows).

Leg: efficient design

• Revised design, called “Aero Profile“, combined to a high clearance prevent possible blockage when ploughing in heavy residues.

• The pre-shaped components have limited welding and hence more robustness. Their weight is even lower than for the existing variant. A better flow and a lesser weight reduce the necessary traction and fuel consumption.

• Clever: both shearbolt protection and auto-reset systems use the same leg. Therefore, benefit from fewer variants and use the same saddle for all legs.

• New user friendly leaf spring system, ensuring the same efficiency as the current system. Adapt the releasing force according to current ploughing conditions at any time.

Plough bodies: efficient

• Handy : all current Kverneland plough bodies can be fitted onto the Kv 2500 plough serie.

• Comfort in adjusting the working width from the tractor cabin thanks to the reliable Variomat Kverneland system. Adjusts the working width from 12“ (30 cm) to as much as 24“ (60 cm). This is more than you can achieve with any other Kverneland ploughs.

Depth wheels: smart

• Safe and easy. “Swivel“ instead of pendulum mechanism to reverse the wheel. Latching during road transport. The pivot point of tractor/plough unit is located in the middle. Hence, there is no tilting out when driving in curves.

• 280/60 x 15,5 or 420/55 x 17

• Adjustable mechanically or hydraulically.

• 280/60 x 15,5 also available for the frame mounted version.

• Unique: rubber belt. When frame mounted, it ensures a large contact area of 65 x 30 cm which is actually covered by the plough’s working width.

Skimmers and other accessories: handy

• Unique and smart: quick central adjustment of the skimmers working depth. Right and left skimmers adjust simultaneously.

• Availability of manure and maize skimmers plus trash boards.

• Disc coulters: plain or notched, in 18“ (45 cm) or 20“ (50 cm).

• Both, packer arms and the well-known Kverneland Packomat can be fitted in order to increase efficiency by adding several operations into one pass.

Operation and control: Simple and Easy

• Three different options to operate the plough are available. They all included electro-hydraulic components. The angle sensor to control the plough angle is even standard in the minimum configuration.

These options are so-called: Basic, Medium, High-end.

• The Basic layout is a handheld switch to pre-select the relevant function to be set (working width or plough angle; eventually front furrow width, if ordered hydraulically)

• The Medium layout is the “Portus” switchbox, offering a small monochrome display in order to visualize parameters and settings.

• The High-end layout is the “i-Plough” concept, based on ISOBUS.
