Kverneland Optima SX - High Speed Seeding Unit for Precision Seeder

Increased speed up to 18km/h for utmost efficiency

The new Optima SX high speed seeding unit ensures maximised performance and efficiency. With accurate seed singulation, precise seed placement and higher working speeds of up to 18km/h, the Optima TFprofi seeder is up to 50% more efficient!

The completely new-designed seeding heart for the well-established range of Optima precision drills ensures an accurate seeding quality at 18 km/h. In fact, with the new pressurised seeding heart, Kverneland engineers have introduced a new technology within the Optima SX seeding unit. The seeds are shot by an airstream of up to 70kph into the furrow. A soft catching wheel protects the delicate seeds.

“The challenge is to speed up the sowing operation whilst placing the seeds most precisely and evenly for the establishment of maize, beet, beans and sunflowers. With the new Optima SX high speed row, we keep up the best standards of precision drilling whilst increasing efficiency of up to 50%”, explains Constantin Homann, Product Specialist for precision seeders.

No generator needed

With hardly any friction within the seeding heart, only small torque and little power is needed. Therefore, the Optima SX high speed row can run without a generator.

Full functionality of GEOCONTROL and GEOSEED®

The Optima SX high speed row is running on ISOBUS technology including all the well-known functionalities of GEOCONTROL and GEOSEED®, even at higher working speeds.

With GEOCONTROL and GPS, each electric driven seeding unit is automatically switched on or off at exactly the right place ensuring there is no overlap or missing seed.

GEOSEED® allows the distribution of seeds in a parallel or diamond pattern. Thus all the plants get the same access to nutrients, water and sun for an even germination and a strong crop population.

Public launch and availability

The new Optima SX high speed seeding unit will be presented on Agritechnica with limited availability in spring 2018. It will be offered for the frames of Optima TFprofi and Optima V.
