Level(s): sustainability of building framework - test phase findings published

Level(s) is the voluntary reporting framework to improve the sustainability of buildings defined by the European Commission. This framework will be a tool for the new Strategy for a Sustainable Built Environment announced in the New Circular Economy Action Plan.

Level(s) will integrate life-cycle assessment in public procurement and the EU sustainable finance framework and it will explore the appropriateness of setting carbon reduction targets and the potential of carbon storage.

Last month the EU Joint Research Centre (JRC) published draft documentation of the major findings from the Level(s) test phase. The main document is a summary report that communicates key findings and proposals from JRC analysis. The document is supported by background annexes that report on the results of the EU survey and the verification process conducted to enrich the feedback from testers. All these documents can be found here. A first publication version of Level(s) is expected by summer 2020.
