logitrans, the International Transport Logistics Exhibition to be held at the Istanbul Expo Center from November 16–18, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. It features the widest range of products and services along the entire value chain for logistics, telematics and transportation in the European region.

logitrans 2016 will open at 13:00 on November 16 with a discussion on "The Role of Turkey in the International Supply Chain—An Outlook for Future Development." Prof. Thomas Wimmer, Chairman of the Executive Board Bremen, German Logistics Association (BVL), will moderate the panel discussion.

The opening will be followed by a first-rate conference program that accompanies logitrans for the entire three-day exhibition. The PeriLog conference, which was first held in 2015, takes place on Wednesday, November 16. Once again, it will revolve around the transportation and storage of perishable goods and cold-chain logistics. Its primary focus is on logistics solutions for fresh products from the Eurasian region. The BVL and its regional chapter in Istanbul are sponsoring the event.

Another highlight takes place on Thursday afternoon. For the first time ever, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) will participate in logitrans as an exhibitor and even take part in the supporting program with the topic "Industry 4.0 within the Supply Chain". At this event, representatives from organizations and key players in industry and logistics will share their experiences and discuss the possible effects of Industry 4.0 on logistics processes, technology and organizations in the supply chain.

The growing significance of the air-cargo industry in Turkey will also be noticeable at logitrans. Istanbul's third airport, which is said to be the largest in the world, is due to begin operations in February 2018. So it only makes sense for this ambitious project to also play an important role in the conference program. On Friday, November 18, IGA (Istanbul Grand Airport) will present the topic "Global Logistics Hub of the future: Istanbul New Airport." On Thursday afternoon, experts from Emirates Airline, Lufthansa Cargo, Turkish Cargo and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) will deal with another topic of interest to the air cargo industry, i.e. "Electronic Air Waybill and e-Freight Systems."

All presentations in the conference program take place in the forum area in Hall 9 and are free of charge. They will be simultaneously translated into Turkish/English.
