Can you describe the business activities of your company?
Machine26 is a marketplace that helps construction machine owners to sell their machines without any effort. Our inspection app collects all relevant data on the machine condition so that our customers can receive the best offer from international buyers within a few days.
We successfully launched our product last year and have already won several large construction companies as customers.
When and by whom was your company founded? How did you come up with the idea?
The company was founded in 2019 by Niklas Fritz, Christian Schweiger and Steffen Schweiger. Steffen and Niklas met at the international construction OEM PERI where they led projects regarding equipment sales. Christian, who is Steffen’s brother, learned to code during school and started several businesses before.
Since 2021, we are a YCombinator startup. Together with 350 other innovative startups, we were selected out of over 16.000 applications worldwide. We are very proud to represent the construction industry in this exclusive circle of innovators in the Silicon Valley.
What problem(s) is your tool solving?
On the one hand, there is a lack of an easy and fast sell-off solution for machine owners.
On the other hand, used machine dealers are looking for relevant machines but due to a fragmented and regional market they do not have access to them.
Our inspection app increases trust and enables digital machine trading.
Can you identify the range of your customers? What markets/regions do you focus on and where would you like to expand?
Every company that is owning used construction equipment is our target customer. For example, large construction companies already use our solution for regular sell-offs. But we also help small landscapers to sell off single machines.
We started in Europe. As a marketplace, our goal is to build an international solution.
