  • Manitowoc has opened new factory-direct support facilities in Yatala (Queensland) and Melbourne (Victoria) to strengthen service and parts capabilities on Australia's East Coast.

  • The Yatala facility offers extensive workshop space and outdoor areas to support growing crane fleets, especially ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.

  • The Melbourne site provides a permanent base for local technicians and sales staff, also supporting customers in Tasmania.

  • These expansions improve access to factory-trained technicians and parts, enhancing service response times and equipment uptime for Grove and Potain crane customers.

Manitowoc is expanding its customer support operations in Australia with new facilities in the states of Queensland and Victoria. The new locations expand the Company’s service capabilities across Australia’s east coast, as demand for Grove mobile cranes and Potain tower cranes continues to grow, driven by infrastructure, renewable energy and urban development projects. The investment reinforces Manitowoc’s commitment to enhancing aftersales services, parts distribution and customers’ access to technical expertise in Australia.

Located in Yatala (Queensland) and Melbourne (Victoria), the new facilities provide additional workshop space, field service, and sales support, complementing Manitowoc’s established operations in Sydney (New South Wales), where the Company has recently moved to a much larger facility. The new branches will provide faster access to factory-trained technician support and parts delivery to an expanding crane population.

Expanding in Queensland

Located in the industrial corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Manitowoc’s new Yatala facility provides a strategic base for supporting customers across the state, where major infrastructure development is expected to continue ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The facility includes four workshop bays, a dedicated wash bay, an outdoor covered work area, and more than 2,200 m2 of hardstand space. The additional capacity gives Manitowoc room to expand its local service and support operations as the fleets of Grove and Potain cranes in Queensland grow.

Building a permanent base in Victoria

In Victoria, Manitowoc has opened a dedicated three-bay facility in Melbourne’s western industrial area. The new site provides a permanent base for a growing local team supporting both Grove and Potain crane customers throughout the state.

The facility has approximately 1,400 m2 of outdoor space and is currently staffed by mobile and tower crane technicians, sales specialists, and a spare parts manager. The Victoria team will also be supported by dedicated crane experts serving customers in Tasmania.

Local support, factory connection

Across both new locations, the focus is on combining local availability with direct access to Manitowoc’s expertise. Customers will benefit from factory-trained technicians, service and breakdown repair capabilities, as well as local technical consultation and support. These capabilities are designed to improve response times while increasing equipment uptime.

“Customers increasingly want a dedicated manufacturing partner with local expertise and direct access to factory support,” said John Stewart, VP Sales & Support and General Manager of Manitowoc in Australia. “These investments allow us to put more resources closer to our customers, improving service response, increasing parts availability, and ensuring we continue to deliver the level of support the market expects from Manitowoc.”
