Manitowoc extends a warm welcome to visitors at JDL Expo 2020

  • JDL Expo 2020 is in full swing in Beaune, France, and the Manitowoc team is enjoying meeting customers and partners again at this important networking event.

  • Special measures have been put in place at the booth to ensure visitors remain safe and comfortable while viewing the latest Potain tower and Grove mobile cranes and interacting with Manitowoc staff.

  • Highlights at the booth include the Grove GMK3060L, GMK4100L-1 and GMK5150L all-terrain cranes; the Potain Hup M 28-22 self-erecting crane; and the Potain Cab-IN internal mast operator elevator for top slewing cranes.

Manitowoc is currently showcasing the latest additions to its Grove mobile crane and Potain tower crane ranges at JDL Expo in Beaune, France. JDL Expo is the first exhibition that Manitowoc has attended since CONEXPO earlier this year and the team is enjoying interacting face-to-face with customers again.

Under the Grove brand, Manitowoc is exhibiting three all-terrain taxi cranes kindly provided by customers for the duration of the show: a GMK3060L, a GMK400L-1 and a GMK5150L.

The GMK3060L is owned by ALM (Alsace Levage Manutention) based in Strasbourg. The Grove GMK3060L has a 48 m main boom and super compact design – the carrier is only 2.55 m wide and 8.67 m long, allowing it to fit into even the tightest spaces. A brand new GMK3060L belonging to Manitowoc dealer Transports Manutention Couturier will also be on display among the JDL product highlights.

Visitors can also see the GMK4100L-1 presented by Groupe Cayon at the Manitowoc booth in Beaune. The 100-t four-axle all-terrain crane with 60 m main boom is the most compact crane in its class and can carry 6.7 t of counterweight within the 12 ton per axle taxi configuration.

In addition, Manitowoc is showing Corbas-based LVO Levage’s GMK5150L. With the best load charts in its class, it is the ideal machine for many jobs such as tower crane rigging, power line installation or refinery jobsites.

On the Potain side, Manitowoc is displaying a Hup M 28-22 self-erecting crane owned by local French Potain dealer and rental company OB-Rent. This mobile, compact, and versatile crane can lift 2.2 t from its 28 m jib, and is quick and easy to erect, saving time and money on short-term jobsites.

The company is also shining a light on the new Potain Cab-IN internal mast operator elevator for top slewing cranes with the help of regional dealer Valente Grue Assistance. This two-person elevator provides fast and efficient ascent to the cab without blocking access to the mast ladder. It does not affect erection times and is easy to transport because it is contained inside the crane mast. Since January 2019, French regulations require all tower cranes with a mast taller than 30 m to include elevator access to the cab.

“This is not a usual exhibition because of COVID-19. We have put extensive measures in place at the booth to ensure the safety and comfort of all, but we believe it is worth being here. There is nothing like meeting face-to-face to build and strengthen relationships, and JDL Expo provides a special opportunity for us to promote our innovations in France,” said Orlando Mota, SVP Sales Europe at Manitowoc Cranes.
