High-strength steels for enhanced quality standards
The Bavarian superstructure manufacturer uses HBW 450 and 500 high-strength steels with improved surface characteristics for all its product series, thus creating robust lifting equipment and tipping superstructures with a long service life. In addition to the branded steels used to date, the Munich enterprise now also utilises high-strength steels of equal or, in part, higher quality from new steel suppliers. Following bauma 2025, MEILLER will launch a new quality campaign based on this development. The traditional manufacturer wants to further strengthen its name as a specialist for steel tippers and light steel tipping superstructures through its own steel seal of quality.
The superstructure manufacturer will be presenting the current tipper generation mounted on or hitched to a total of eight truck chassis on stand FN 719/13 in the outdoor area of the exhibition venue in Munich-Riem. Visitors can expect to gain a closer look at three TRIGENIUS three-way tippers of differing size, namely the TRIGENIUS D205 with an equipment box on the FUSO eCanter, the TRIGENIUS D212 crane tipper on the MAN TGS and the TRIGENIUS D421 on the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 8x4. Furthermore, the new TECTRIS AK18 skip loader on an electrically powered Scania and the TECTRUM RS21 hooklift and trailer on a Volvo FH will also be on display. A more powerful presence will be the 3-axle GRANDLOAD MHPS 44.3 tipping semi-trailer combined with a Mercedes-Benz semi-trailer tractor with a tipper hydraulic system from MEILLER. Last but not least, MEILLER has brought the two giant tippers, the MAXTREME H450 with a chain flap and the MAXTREME P436, mounted on a MAN and IVECO chassis respectively, to the exhibition city.

The TRIGENIUS® three-way tipper
The TRIGENIUS® series celebrated its global premiere three years ago. The three-way tippers have since been refined further for every weight class ranging from 3.5 to an overall weight of 41 tonnes and rolled out for every notable truck manufacturer. Their modular structure is as unique as their uniform design with numerous smooth surfaces. They set standards for ergonomics, operation and efficiency in the sector. The TRIGENIUS® can now even compete with three-way aluminium tippers, particularly in light and medium-duty truck classes up to 12 tonnes, and exhibits similarly positive payload characteristics with a significantly increased resistance to wear, thanks to thin high-strength materials. While an aluminium body floor exhibits around one millimetre abrasive wear annually in the case of gravel transportation, transported material of this kind cannot harm the high-strength sheet material of a TRIGENIUS® steel tipper. Wear is practically zero here, as this high-grade steel is five times harder and has seven times the yield and tensile strength when compared to aluminium. Processing of this thin sheet material made of fine-grained steel is realised using robotassisted laser welding technology which, with minimum welding distortion and consistent quality, MEILLER has mastered to perfection. This technology has its drawbacks and, consequently, cannot be successfully exploited by every superstructure manufacturer.
MEILLER has consistently implemented the lightweight design concept through refined exploitation of the finite element method (FEM), including on the tipper body floor assembly. In addition to using high-tensile steels for the loading platform and weight-optimised M-Jet side walls, payload advantages of 5 to 20 percent are achieved, depending on the model. Added to this, a cathodic dip coating ensures a high level of corrosion protection, higher than any other tipper manufacturer has every achieved in this form. Furthermore, the TRIGENIUS® is known as a versatile champion for efficient bulk and piece material transportation on the construction site. If desired, the side panels can be equipped with the tried and tested MEILLER Bordmatic with an integrated LED safety light, enhancing safety during unloading on the construction site or roads. The self-adjusting MEILLER side wall locks are an ergonomic design, noise dampened and doubly secure in the closed position. Numerous individual adaptations to the most varied customer requirements can be realised, thanks to the increased use of bolted connections. For example, efficient high-quality crane mounting can now be achieved, thanks to a bolted connection.

The TECTRIS® skip loader
MEILLER, the superstructure specialist, has launched the TECTRIS AK18 skip loader just in time for bauma 2025. The new model is distinguished by its modular bolted design, further reinforcement of its steel structure and a new environmentally friendly surface concept consisting of a cathodic dip primer coating and water-based topcoat paint finish.
This has created a new version of the reliable TECTRIS with a payload of 18 tonnes which, through the current generation of the MEILLER i.s.a.r.-control 3 remote system, facilitates convenient operation by the driver from a safe distance with an optimum view of the procedure during loading and unloading of containers. The superstructure rests on a tripleaxle chassis with a wheelbase of 2.60 to 3.90 metres and an overall weight of up to 28 tonnes. The loading platform on the skip loader performs superbly without an additional subframe. This results in a low tare weight and high payloads. The high-quality hydraulic system developed by the company facilitates speedy and sensitive manipulation during operations, and working noise is also limited. All its components originate from a single source and are optimally coordinated. This also means that the customer can speedily obtain spare parts. Important steel components are primed with a cathodic dip coating, providing excellent protection against corrosion and a long service life for the skip loader. Exact load-independent synchronisation of the telescopic arms and stabilising jacks during extension is unique, as are the operating characteristics which, overall, are extremely quiet.

The TECTRUM® hooklift
As a name, TECTRUM is an implicit expression of high load volumes, large container dimensions and handling of different container types. The reliable TECTRUM RS21 hooklift will be appearing at bauma 2025 as a complete truck and trailer combination with an appropriate container transport trailer. The vehicle has an enclosed frame profile, a low tare weight and a lengthy service life. Designed for continuous operation, the hooklift impresses through its robustness and the long service life of its components. MEILLER also subjects the loadbearing steel components of the TECTRUM hooklift to cathodic dip coating treatment to ensure consistently high surface quality, long durability and a high level of corrosion protection. This lends the surface a hardness that increases its imperviousness to scratching and damage caused by stone chippings. Even components with complicated structures can be coated evenly and completely. The TECTRUM RS21 also provides optional low-friction container supports made of high-strength plastic for low-noise operation in residential areas or when working at night. They lessen noise when moving containers and reduce friction.
The lifting force of the TECTRUM RS21 is 21 tonnes, meaning it is predestined for a truck chassis with up to 28 tonnes overall weight. The modular design facilitates optimum adaptation of the superstructure to the respective chassis. The extension modules bolted to the base frame move the superstructure as close as possible to the driver’s cab. This reduces vibration and noise development during the journey, considerably enhancing driving comfort. The TECTRUM achieves a tare weight saving of up to 200 kg when compared to its predecessor. The hooklift facelift is also distinguished by an improved steel structure that ensures even greater clearance between the device and the raised container. This facilitates raising of deformed containers and their shifting onto the hooklift. A particularly flat base frame means that the centre of gravity of the superstructure is low on the chassis. This enhances stability and driving safety. The TECTRUM RS21 can load containers with a volume of up to 50 cubic metres with ease. Transport volumes of up to 100 cubic metres can even be achieved in conjunction with a TECTRUM trailer for transporting containers.

The GRANDLOAD® tipping semi-trailer
The 3-axle MHPS 44/3N semi-trailer is one of the classic models in the MEILLER range and only bears its name GRANDLOAD since the IAA Transportation event in 2024. A high level of driving comfort and versatile application options distinguish this product. With optimised weight characteristics, but a robust design, the GRANDLOAD is distinguished by outstanding driving characteristics on all routes. Its low centre of gravity ensures greater tipping stability, optimum road holding and stable driving characteristics. The low overall height simultaneously facilitates easy loading with different types of bulk materials. In addition to sand, gravel and excavated material, the GRANDLOAD is also suitable for heavy rock and concrete rubble. Regardless of the chassis involved, the GRANDLOAD series from MEILLER has welded longitudinal and cross members that ensure the bending and torsion resistance of the chassis. Axles, bearings, brakes, shock absorbers and air springs are obtained from notable suppliers, ensuring a long service life, reliability and rapid provision of spare parts. To counter abrasive wear on the rear of the vehicle, MEILLER can line the loading platform in the rear third of the trailer with up to six millimetres of high-strength sheet steel, a feature also known as tailored blanks. The customer need not fear any reduction in payload as a result. A completely steel design, the basic tipper version weighs little more than 5,600 kilogrammes. With aluminium wheels, an aluminium air reservoir and the elimination of an operating platform, telescopic jacks and a roll-up tarp, the MEILLER 3-axle vehicle can be refined further to achieve an optimum payload.

The MAXTREME® heavy rear tipper
Meiller has also developed the heavy rear tipper product line further. The name is MAXTREME®, emphasising extreme operations and the versatility of robust heavy rear tippers. Some of the best-known construction vehicles include the 4-axle P436 and H450 rear tippers. They are distinguished by compact outer dimensions and, simultaneously, an extensive transportation volume and high degree of functionality. The tippers also combine a low tare weight with a high payload. MAXTREME vehicles are therefore predestined for the transportation of different bulk materials, even under extreme conditions. Steel bodies optimised to resist wear and scratching, loading capacities of up to 28 cubic metres and nominal loads of up to 50 tonnes mean the 4-axle vehicles are extremely efficient in both road traffic and on off-road terrain. A core difference between the P and H series from MEILLER is to be found in the body shape. The P series offers a half-round body which enables optimum discharging of bulk material. A larger tipping angle also facilitates unloading. The central loading position ensures optimum road holding. With its angular body, the H series is designed for extreme operating conditions. Thanks to its jet side walls, it provides additional stability and a long service life under all conditions.
MEILLER has included a robust chain flap for the MAXTREME series as a new option in the range. The additional tailgate solution provides a mechanical body lock that opens and closes automatically during loading and unloading. The chain flap also ensures particularly low wear and functions extremely reliably. MEILLER therefore responds to the customer requirement for an additional alternative to the free movement of the top-hinged and hydraulically opening tailgate. The MAXTREME models have a tipping stabiliser for enhanced tipping stability. In addition, the visual warning system in the cab enhances safety when using heavy tipper vehicles. Finally, MAXTREME vehicles also impress when it comes to the resale value, even after many years of service.
