Melker Jernberg, President of Volvo Construction Equipment and Member of the Executive Board

Melker Jernberg became President of Volvo Construction Equipment and Member of the Volvo Group Executive Board on January 1^st, 2018.

Born in Orsa, Sweden in 1968, Mr. Jernberg has worked in a number of roles in the automotive, steel and powder metallurgy industries.

A graduate of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Jernberg joined Scania AB in 1989, where he remained for 22 years, ultimately becoming Senior Vice President with responsibility for Scania’s Bus and Coach business area.

In 2011, Mr. Jernberg joined Swedish steel manufacturer SSAB where, as Executive Vice President, he was responsible for running the company’s European, Middle Eastern and African businesses. His most recent position prior to joining Volvo was as CEO and President at Höganäs AB, a Sweden-based metals powder manufacturer, a position he assumed in 2014.

Married and with three sons, Mr. Jernberg is a car enthusiast and enjoys a lifelong love of skiing.
