Merlo introduces its new and entirely renewed product range

Merlo Group will be exhibiting at Agritechnica in Hannover, at stand number D38, Hall 6. In addition to the indoor area, the company will also be exhibiting its range of professional Forestry Tractors in the outdoor area. Merlo introduces an entirely renewed product range that’s capable of meeting all the needs of modern agriculture. The P25.6, the most compact telehandler in the product range, is in a class of its own with a speed of 40 Km/h, and offers the possibility of being approved for use as an agricultural tractor.

Main new features at the stand

The stand will play host to many of the latest features of a product range that’s being thoroughly renewed. Merlo introduces the new “Turbofarmer Medium Duty” range for the agricultural sector, which includes the TF35.7 and TF33.9 models. These units represent the forerunners of a new generation of products that’s destined to expand with the arrival of the new “Turbofarmer Compact Duty” TF33.7 and TF30.9 models. These two new families offer exclusive contents and technologies derived from the superior product ranges (like the cab itself, for example), and will redefi ne the standards for compact telehandlers in the agricultural industry. The qualifying and unique elements offered by our range of telehandlers include Merlo’s patented CS suspended cab, a speed of 40 km/h throughout the entire range, the largest cab in their category, standard Eco Power Drive for reduced consumption, Merlo’s patented M CVTronic continuous variable transmission, rear mechanical PTO, and the possibility of being approved for use as agricultural tractors.

The New Turbofarmer Medium Duty range

At Agritechnica, Merlo will be previewing its new series of mid-range TF35.7 and TF33.9 models for the German market, which were awarded the 2015 Machine of the year award by an international panel of agricultural mechanisation experts and journalists.

These new models are the result of an innovative modular concept, and boast characteristics that greatly improve the strengths of the product range itself. The operating comfort has been considerably improved. The TF35.7 and TF33.9, in fact, are equipped with the new modular cab, the largest in its class, which sets a new benchmark for this category of machinery in terms of comfort and ergonomics.

CS cab suspension will also be available (thus rendering it the only model in its class to be equipped with this patented Merlo technology), which signifi cantly enhances comfort and productivity at the same time. Thanks to the modular approach, this new family poses itself on the market as the most compact in its class, with a maximum height of 2.25 m. The new design enables these models to also be the lightest on the market, weighing in at 6,600 kg, thus ensuring greater manoeuvrability and a signifi cant consumption reduction. Reduced consumption is also guaranteed by the new EPD (Eco Power Drive)system, which will be a standard feature in this new range as well, thus reducing consumption (and, therefore, CO2 emissions) by 18%. Two engine types are available, one with 75 HP, and the other with 120 HP, both of which are Stage 3b without the use of DPF or SCR (AdBlue).

The new models also come equipped with a standard Fan Drive system, which provides for the correct and improved cleaning of the radiator fi lters, even under extremely dusty conditions.

All the models in the range boast a travel speed of 40 km/h (the highest in their class) and will be equipped with Merlo bridges fi tted with planetary drives, which ensure greater resistance with respect to the previous, and render the machines even more compact.

Their strengths and technologies are listed below:

  • 55 kW and 90 kW engines

  • Approval for use as agricultural tractors

  • Maximum speed 40 km/h

  • Height of 2.25 m and width of 2.24 m

  • New pressurised modular cab (the largest in its class), complete with a new air-conditioning system

  • CS Cab Suspension

  • Standard Eco Power Drive (for reduced consumption)

  • Available with hydraulic braking connectors (also air connectors)

  • Standard Fan Drive

The New Turbofarmer Compact Duty range

Thanks to the new modular approach, Merlo Group has developed a second family of products based on the same technologies, but with more compact dimensions: the new TF33.7 and TF 30.9 range of compact telehandlers. This new range features technologies and performance levels typical of the superior product ranges, thus setting new benchmarks for the category. All the models in the Compact Duty range will be fi tted with the new modular cab (the largest in its class), thus creating new standards for this class of machinery in terms of comfort and ergonomics. Two engine types are also available for this range: 75 HP and 120 HP, both Stage 3b without the use of DPF and SCR (AdBlue).

The TF33.7 and TF30.9 will also be available in the L version (LOW PROFILE), with a height of just 2 m, while at the same time maintaining the same cab as the standard models. In fact, these models have been designed using the same cab as the models of the superior ranges, thus ensuring superior comfort, a maximum speed of 40 km/h, and the possibility of approval for agricultural use.

Its strengths and technologies are summarised below:

  • Compact size, with a height of 2.12 m and a width of 2.1 m

  • Low Profi le version (height 2.02 m) with the same cab and the same performance levels as the standard models

  • New pressurised modular cab (the largest in its class), complete with a new air-conditioning system

  • Maximum speed of 40 km/h on all the models, including the Low Profi le versions

  • Two engine types: 75 HP (55 kW) and 120 HP (90 kW)

  • Type approval as an agricultural tractor

  • Standard EPD (for reduced consumption)

  • Available with hydraulic braking connectors (also air connectors)

Turbofarmer II

The stand will also include the fl agship of Merlo’s agricultural product range. The Turbofarmer II, which is available in three models (TF 38.7 – TF 42.7 – TF 38.10) and more than 20 different versions. These models feature a series of technologies designed to maximise the comfort and productivity of Merlo’s telehandlers, while at the same time reducing consumption and harmful emissions. In addition to the strengths and technologies that these models share with the new Medium Duty range of telehandlers, they also boast a series of unique and exclusive features:

  • Merlo’s CVTronic continuous variable transmission: a patented Merlo technology that guarantees increased torque at low speeds, as well as fl uid acceleration with no loss of torque or stoppages for gear changes from 0 to 40 Km/h

  • Lateral boom shifting: the “TT” models come with standard boom levelling and lateral shifting (a patented Merlo technology), which guarantees maximum safety, and allows the load to be quickly and precisely positioned by simply shifting the boom, with no need to move the telehandler itself;

  • Mechanical PTO: this product range features an optional mechanical rear PTO, which further expands the versatility of Merlo’s telehandlers to include numerous other potential applications using attachments that require a power source

Its strengths and technologies are summarised below:

  • Mechanical PTO

  • MCVTronic, which provides for acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h with no loss of torque

  • EPD (Electronic Power Drive) for reduced consumption
