MHE-Demag’s Explosion-proof Hoists Flying High on Jurong Island, Singapore

Afton Chemical Asia, manufacturer of additives for driveline, engine oil, fuel and industrial application, had engaged MHE-Demag Singapore in Q3 2015 to supply, install and commission 7 units of monorail hoisting system and one unit of slewing jib crane system for their new facility on Jurong Island. In consideration of the hazardous environment, all lifting systems must be supplied with explosion-proof execution. The lifting systems were installed in Q2 2016. The capacities for these hoisting systems are ranging from 500 kg to 3000 kg. In these lifting systems, there is a special circular track installed to allow hoist trolley to travel to other work stations to maximise its effectiveness. These explosion-proof hoist lifting systems were designed, fabricated and commissioned in MHE-Demag’s Singapore plant. The Singapore plant is certified and accredited to produce explosion-proof lifting systems for the local market and beyond. Last but not least, the winning factor for this job is solely derived from customer’s confidence and believes MHE-Demag Singapore could produce the systems to meet the stringent requirements within a tight schedule.
