MMM ERBA Makina Inc. success story of providing complete solutions for gypsum plasterboard production lines

MMM ERBA Makina was estab­lished in 2001 by mechanical engineer Mr. Melih Baran KILIÇ, who had long valuable ex­perience in gypsum calcination, gypsum plasters and plasterboard production, to provide high reli­able and economical solutions in the sector.


In the first years of its establishment our company provided consulting services in gypsum market and supplied equipment and plants for gypsum plaster production.

While taking on supplying gypsum plaster plants, we started gypsum plasterboard plant design and drawings works, which, when it was completed, crowned with an order or supply of turn-key plant for a Turkish company in 2008 in Ankara region, which is the 1st locally “made in Turkey” plasterboard plant that is now owned by Saint-Gobain Rigips.

Along with the 1st plasterboard plant supply, knowing all issues related with plasterboard production only too well, we made advancements and improvements in some parts and equipment of the production line, such as:

  • form-press unit of the plasterboard plant

  • mixer of the plasterboard plant

  • rollers of the plasterboard plant

by make use of technological developments and today’s materials and securing our company founder’s “top quality equipment for the best prices” principle, which are found a by our competitors and started to be applied by them.

All these advancements and improvements provide the production of gypsum plasterboards according to Dın 18 180 norms and guarantees sustainability principles in the plants, and made us one of the 4-worldwide-suppliers of gypsum plasterboard production equipment.

Recently, in 2016, to provide better services and on-time support to our Customers, and to improve well-organized system starting from design works to quality control works that is a must procedure prior to the dispatch of the equipment from our factory, we built new complex – headquarters of MMM ERBA  Makina Inc.

Our new headquarters enabled us to establish;

  • design team with experienced members that are capable to implement all recent technological developments,

  • fully-equipped (2x CNC Lathe – 3-Axis Turning Center, 1x CNC Milling – 3-Axis Vertical Machining Center, 1x CNC Turn & Mill Lathe - 5-Axis Turning and Machining Center, 2x welding robots, 1x laser cutting station and 1x bending station) machining workshop to ensure the supply of precise and top-quality parts for best possible prices,

  • painting workshop with electrostatic paint dryer and wet-painting drying chamber,

  • electrical and automation department that designs, write plant automation software and assemble electrical and electronic parts of the system.

Machining of almost all parts with high accuracy and making control & automation system of the plant by ourselves provides long-life for plasterboard plant’s equipment and low service & maintenance expenses. Thanks to these facts, recorded stop-time due to failure of the plant equipment in 2018 was 7.5 hours/year.

Together with our electrical & automation team and erection & commissioning team, we do erection works of the plasterboard plants by our own installation engineers, installation supervisors and installation masters. Commissioning team is well-experienced to ensure you to make all cold-run and hot-run tests of each & every equipment of the production line.

Our ability and experience in making erection and commissioning works by our own team enables us to provide warranty to produce plasterboards as per DIN18180 norms.

With modern facilities, fully-equipped design department and machining workshop that ensures durable & low-cost equipment made us to be accepted as R&D Centre by Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey among the 972 companies 80 percent of which are state-owned defense industry companies, and started to get Ministry’s R&D Centre support for our research and development works.

By using our existing facilities and abilities, and by the support of being R&D Centre, we started studies of new project – mineral wool production plant. We’ve already completed almost 70% of the mineral wool plant project, and we are planning to manufacture key equipment of the plant – fiberizing machine and melting furnace (cupola) in 2019, and make a mineral wool plant in Turkey use them.

In order to present our experience and ability in production lines’ design and establishment, to show our possibility that enables us to offer new project “mineral wool production equipment and plants” with an optimal quality – price ratio, we preferred to participate in bauma 2019, the largest construction machinery trade fair in the world.
