Multifunctional machines on the rise

In its 60th anniversary year, Wiedenmann presented new machines for grounds maintenance, dirt removal and winter services. For example, visitors were amazed by the new Super 1300M: a lawn sweeper that can also be used for mowing and scarifying - which saves a lot of money. The manufacturer is also applying this multi-role concept to other machines.

It all started at Wiedenmann in 1964 with the collection of grass and leaves. The Super 1300M is an impressive demonstration of what has happened in technology since then. Instead of the standard brush roller there is a multi-care head. It carries the tools for the new functions and makes the Super machine a super machine: instead of three separate devices, the greenkeeper only needs one.

The stand in Hall 9 was usually well attended. According to Wiedenmann, there were many “quality enquiries”. These also related to another new product, the compact RMR 240 W large area mower. The front deck is equipped with folding side wings that can be used independently. They provide a working width of 240 cm with a transport width of just 180 cm. Once again, one machine is enough for both narrow contours and large areas.

Wiedenmann also presented its Terra Rake 170/230 with the Airdos pneumatic reseeding system. This combination also offers a double benefit: the turf felt is removed from the area in a single pass and the reseeding takes place immediately after the organic material has been removed.

There was also a full range of machines for winter services. The focus was on Wiedenmann's Vario technology: snow ploughs with side wings that can be folded in like a mower, allowing pavements and large areas to be cleared with just one machine.

This multi-functionality runs through the manufacturer´s entire range, which includes more than 120 machines for almost all maintenance tasks in sports and leisure facilities as well as in the municipal sector.
