  • Volvo machines were transported via inland vessels from Antwerp to Moerdijk in collaboration with partner Interrijn.

  • The use of the Blue Road route enabled moving more machines faster while reducing environmental impact.

  • Upon arrival, machines are stored temporarily and then assembled and customized to customer specifications.

  • A video documenting the multimodal transport highlights the project's efficiency and sustainability alignment.

Every now and then, a project comes along that simply deserves to be captured on film. This was certainly one of them!

Over the past two months, we once again had the pleasure of supporting Volvo with two barge shipments. Together with our partner Interrijn, multiple machines were transported by inland vessel from Antwerp to our facility in Moerdijk. A familiar route, that again proved its value.

By taking the Blue Road, we are able to move a larger number of machines in less time. This approach significantly increases efficiency while at the same time reducing the project’s environmental impact. This fully aligns with our shared sustainability ambitions and our earlier multimodal collaboration with Volvo.

Upon arrival in Moerdijk, the machines remain in temporary storage. Thereafter, they will continue through our technical process, where they are assembled and modified, fully tailored to the customer’s requirements, before being delivered to their final destination.

We captured the journey of these impressive machines in a short video. Be sure to watch it and see multimodal transport in action.
