Following on from the introduction of an automatic part-width section control via GPS-Switch for fertiliser spreaders by AMAZONE at Agritechnica 2005, the system has been constantly developed further. Today, AMAZONE ZA-V and ZA-TS fertiliser spreaders with ISOBUS communication feature, as standard, multiple part-width section control that can be controlled from an ISOBUS terminal manually or automatically via GPS-Switch or any other SectionControl system.
ZA-V Tronic and
ZA-TS Tronic with manual or electric delivery system adjustment
By utilising the newly developed spreading units on the ZA-V and ZA-TS, which feature quantity effect-free apertures, consistent, triangular spread patterns and software matched to part-width section control, then even better results can be achieved when spreading in wedge shaped fields and in short work.
As the new AMAZONE ZA-V and ZA-TS spreaders feature independently actuated border spread systems (Limiter V+ or ClickTS/AutoTS), the spread patterns are designed to have very large throwing widths during normal spreading. In this way the farmer is offered the advantage that the spread patterns are significantly more robust against any external influences, such as, for example, side wind, slope inclination, air humidity and changing fertiliser quality. This is why AMAZONE spreaders always aim to achieve that optimum triangular-shaped spread pattern.
With these pre-conditions, the distribution of the fertiliser in wedge shape fields and in short work can be optimised to a good degree via a fine tuned part-width section control system using spread rate adaptation. These awkward areas are optimally fertilised and the full yield potential of the field is realised.
8 part-width sections are possible on these spreaders which feature mechanically-driven spreading discs; either by manual actuation at the press of a button, or automatically via GPS-Switch or SectionControl.
ZA-TS Tronic with electric delivery system adjustment
Particularly large working widths require additional matching of the spread pattern in wedge shape fields and in short work. To respond even more sensitively to these situations, the mechanically-driven ZA-TS Tronic with the optional electric delivery system adjustment can, in addition to adapting the spread rate, rotate the delivery system as well. In this way, outer part-width sections can be controlled individually. Due to this combination of spread rate control and delivery system adjustment, the distribution of fertiliser in wedge shape fields and in short work is significantly improved; especially at large working widths.
In both manual and automatic mode 8 part-width sections can be controlled.
ZA-TS Hydro now with 16 part-width sections
Via the adjustment of either the left or right hand spreading disc speed, the ZA-TS Hydro model, with electric delivery system adjustment, offers the additional advantage that, apart from spread rate adaptation and the delivery system adjustment, the throwing width can also be reduced from the outside back towards the centre. Especially at the larger working widths in long, tapering, wedge shaped fields, the Hydro version thus offers additional advantages in comparison with the mechanically-driven models meaning that this solution offers perfect spreading in wedge shaped fields and short work.
The ZA-TS Hydro features, in manual mode, also 8 part-width sections, which can be switched simply at the press of a button whereas in the GPS automatic mode, via GPS-Switch or SectionControl the number is doubled up to 16 part-width sections.
In addition to the advantages coming from better part-width section control, the ZA-TS Hydro also offers the huge benefit of being able to operate irrespective of tractor engine rpm, thus saving fuel and offering additional reserve in hilly terrain.
When the advantages of hydraulic drive (spreader disc speed irrespective of the engine speed, simple and individual control of the speed of each spreading disc, speed adaptation of the spreading disc when border spreading, no PTO shaft, etc.) are the most important points and where part-width section control only plays a minor role, then the ZA-TS Hydro also with just the manual delivery system adjustment can be specified.
With this wide offering of part width section control systems, AMAZONE can fulfil any customer requirement with regard to optimum part-width section control for fertiliser spreading.
