New Case IH after sales XCN-2050 display – the latest generation of precision farming monitors

By launching the XCN-2050 display, Case IH is extending its after sales offering of modular and portable applications. The new display portfolio heralds the next generation of multi-purpose precision farming systems, featuring numerous novel functions and refinements.

The technical highlight of the new display range is a 12.1-inch wide HD colour monitor with a multi-touch control system. It offers a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and is thus capable of dis-playing topographic maps in unprecedented definition and detail.

The new monitor also incorporates, for the first time, a multi-touch control system. This en-ables the user to operate the display with the utmost ease, using just his fingertips. Applying his knowledge of interaction with smart phones and tablets, he can easily pan, stretch and scroll up and down the screen.

Fast processors and perfect clarity
Swift and convenient control is ensured by the Android operating system. In combination with new quad-core processors, the display facilitates high-speed navigation thanks to fast setup, signal processing and continuous position-fixing routines. The monitor has been optimised specifically for use in natural daylight, and delivers perfectly crisp images in the cab even in bright sunlight. In addition, map views can be quickly changed and enlarged with the tip of a finger. And for the first time, the monitor incorporates an HD video camera on the front.

The XCN-2050 system possesses a powerful GNSS satellite receiver to facilitate fast and ex-act positioning. The receiver can process the latest Trimble correction signals, including RangePoint RTX and CenterPoint RTX, as well as XFill functions and the familiar RTK and VRS technologies.

Convenient transfer between vehicles
The XCN-2050 is a modular system. Alongside the actual display, it encompasses the new TM-200 module, which accommodates the GNSS receiver, and a high-performance antenna. The receiver module and antenna can be professionally installed in the tractor, allowing the XCN-2050 monitor, like its predecessors, to be quickly transferred for convenient use across a fleet of tractors and harvesters.

All current data are stored in the device so that the key operating information is logged. For this purpose, the XCN-2050 display possesses a 32 GB internal flash hard disk. Data transfer is implemented by USB sticks.

The new system is making its debut at the Agritechnica fair and will be available to farmers from Q1/2014.
