New control system provides maximum uptime for Hiab Multilift users

Hiab, part of Cargotec, introduces the Second-Generation Control System (2GCS), designed to give Hiab Multilift users maximum uptime as well as unparallelled durability, comfort and safety. The Hiab Multilift demountables, which include hooklifts, cablelifts and skiploaders, have become global market leaders thanks to their excellent reliability and productivity. The new 2GCs is in charge of all the hooklift's functions and safety features.

Long lifetime
The new controller has undergone extensive laboratory and field testing together with Hiab's customers. The result is a casing consisting of weather-resistant high-grade automotive plastics and top quality electronics and designed to handle any conceivable climate and situation. The Programmable Logic Control operating system enables Hiab to constantly develop and upgrade the system with new features and benefits.

Comfort is a key factor
At the heart of the system is the Second Generation Cab Controller used to operate the hooklift. All the main movements of the hooklift can be controlled with a multiple-position, highly responsive joystick by simply selecting one of the three available positions with just one finger.

With the 2GCS the comfort is increased since all you need to do is move the joystick and watch the hooklift load and upload in one single movement. Add to that the possibility to reduce the vibration and noise whilst performing these movements, then you know that you have one of the quietest hooklifts available on the market today.

No compromise when it comes to safety
Safety has always been Hiab's number one priority. The Second-Generation Cab Control System warns the user with an in-built buzzer and LED lights in case of a safety conflict. Meaning that the new control system allows you to always return the hooklift to the transport position, without leaving the safety of the cab.

The 2GCS has a number of options that make operating the hooklift more efficient. A package of features provide faster hooklift operations, shorter standstills and more trips per day.
