New EasySet operating terminal for E+S winter salt spreaders
Amazone Groundcare will use IOG Saltex 2015, this year held for the first time at NEC Birmingham in November, to launch the new E+S winter salt spreader. As from 2016, all E+S spreaders will be equipped with a new rustproof stainless steel hopper tip and will be fitted with a new finger agitation system which, due to its specifically designed trailing fingers, operates more intensively than before yet at the same time provides a more gentle treatment of the spreading material. Additionally, the trailing agitator fingers also significantly reduce the power requirement of the agitator and the agitator finger geometry ensures the optimum hopper emptying; even with coarse, moist spreading materials. The new hopper design, available in capacities from 300 litres through to 1,000 litres, ensures a cleaner material flow as well as reducing maintenance and increasing longevity.
On the operator comfort side, the new EasySet operating terminal is designed to offer complete electric actuation of the E+S spreader and so, via the new terminal, the opening and closing of the shutter is done electrically at the press of a button. An LED shows the operator the status as to whether the shutter is open or closed.
The basic setting of the shutter is also carried out electrically via the plus and minus keys which means that, during operation, it is also possible to match the shutter aperture size, and thus the application rate, with just a quick press of a button. Ideal for when spreading salt, the EasySet box, with its “+100 %” function, can quickly increase the application rate significantly in critical locations, for instance when spreading on bridges or exposed areas. Here, again via an LED display, there is an indication as to whether the application rate increase is activated or not.
On mechanically-driven models, the spreading disc on the E+S is driven via the PTO shaft and so EasySet means that no further hydraulics are required at all. Whereas, for hydraulically-driven E+S spreaders, EasySet provides the benefit that, in total, only one hydraulic connection is needed. This means that the E+S can be operated behind something such as a wheeled loader which maybe has just one hydraulic spool valve.
The spread width reduction kit can also be operated via the EasySet box. Here again an LED shows when it is activated. Needless to say that during operation the spread width reduction kit can also be matched via plus and minus keys to suit the relevant situation.
Actuation of the optionally available LED work light, designed to illuminate the spreading range of the E+S and ensure safe operation during darkness, is, of course, also integrated into the EasySet box.
Come and see the new E+S as well as the changes to the Profihopper and Groundkeeper models for 2016 on Stand H055 on November 4th-5th 2015. we look forward to seeing you there.
