CAPELLE A/D IJSSEL, The Netherlands – 27th May 2013 – Topcon Europe Positioning (TEP) announces European availability of the GG-05 portable track measuring device (TMD) introduced at Bauma 2013 in Munich, Germany and Railtex 2013 held in London, UK.
The GG-05 offers the user a high-precision and cost-effective rail track geometry determination system. Leighton Davies, survey products sales manager for TEP, said, "With the ability to easily and accurately measure running-rail cant and gauge to ±0.5 and ±0.2mm respectively, the TMD is the ideal device for rail surveyors and engineers who need to carry out accurate topographical track surveys for design, construction, maintenance or asset management.
"It incorporates a number of options, including integrating both robotic total station and GNSS receiver for measuring 3D positions, or using the integrated odometer as a standalone device, logging track geometry at specific chainage values."
With certification available in a number of European countries, the GG-05 can be used immediately with a number of Topcon measurement sensors including the QS and PS total stations with the supplied RailSURV controller software or GNSS sensors with the optional RailVW MS Windows desktop or tablet PC software solution.
