Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has launched the ZX135US-6 medium excavator. Designed and engineered to meet the demands of working in confined spaces, it is more compact than the 14-tonne conventional model, and does not compromise on versatility.
The short-tail swing radius makes it suitable for working on a wide range of job sites, particularly where space is limited. These include earthmoving and construction projects, particularly in urban areas, as well as road construction, forestry and demolition applications. Available with a variety of options, including a blade for grading, dozing or additional stability, it is exceptionally versatile.
The ZX135US-5 benefits from the same advanced technology as larger Hitachi models. It also shares the same high-quality engineering and durable components, and offers outstanding levels of reliability.
The new Zaxis-6 model incorporates more than 200 redesigned features and improved components. For example, it has a wide-opening engine cover allowing quick access for easy maintenance, and a user-friendly main fuel filter. The expansion tank is mounted on top of the engine’s cooling system to prevent engine parts from overheating.
Wear-resistant components include the upper roller bushing and aluminium parts of the cooling system to prevent corrosion. The strong front attachment has also been designed to withstand working for lengthy periods of time in tough environments. Covers on the platform walkway have been reinforced to provide a safe working environment.
Designed to offer a superior performance, the ZX135US-6 is built with high-quality components and materials. Inside the cab, the console is made of durable AES-grade resin to prevent damage from ultraviolet rays, and the ergonomic controls and advanced music system contribute to the ultimate working environment.
The ZX135US-6 uses proven technology of larger Hitachi models. This includes the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system that injects urea into exhaust gas to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. The new medium excavator also features the HIOS IV hydraulic system, which reduces total hydraulic loss and helps to lower fuel consumption by 7% (in PWR mode) with the same levels of productivity as the previous model.
“Equipped with innovative technology, which has been developed specifically for the Zaxis-6 range of medium excavators, the ZX135US-6 operates reliably and efficiently,” says Burkhard Janssen, General Manager Product Management & Engineering at HCME. “It has been built to offer the lowest possible cost of ownership to meet the needs of the European construction industry.”
