Hitachi wheeled excavators share the same qualities as the company’s crawler models, such as high-quality engineering, reliability and durability. With incredibly versatile features, they are suitable for a wide range of industry solutions.

The ZX190W-6 has been designed with more than 100 updates, from tiny seals and 0-rings to the reinforcement of the upper structure, boom and arm system, and incorporating new engines with Stage IV technology. These improvements combine to provide better performance and increased efficiency, resulting in a lower total cost of ownership.

The ZX190W-6 is equipped with Hitachi’s unique HIOS IV hydraulic system. This reduces the amount of hydraulic oil returned to the tank due to the cooperative control of the pump and valve. It results in a 15% fuel saving in PWR mode (14% in ECO mode), with the same levels of productivity as the previous model.

Another example of advanced technology is an after-treatment device that results in fewer emissions, ensuring compliance with EU Stage IV regulations. Noise levels are also reduced by the device, which consists of a DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst), SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system and silencer. The SCR system injects urea through a mixing pipe into exhaust gas to reduce nitrous oxide.

The new Zaxis-6 wheeled excavator incorporates high-quality components such as the in-cab console, which is made of highly durable AES-grade resin that resists damage from UV rays. The risk of oil leakage is reduced by a durable connection on the hydraulic return pipes.

The lightweight split-type engine hood provides easy access and the user-friendly fuel filter is easy to replace during routine maintenance. Both features contribute to the reliability of the ZX190W-6 and also highlight its user-friendly appeal.

The durable Zaxis-6 wheeled excavator has a solid and reliable undercarriage, which is modular in design. The blade cylinder cover is larger than the previous model and the outrigger cylinder cover has been reinforced. The machine’s high ground clearance reduces damage from obstacles and further enhances its durability.

Demonstrating the new model’s versatility, the tilting rotator and tilting bucket modes are included within its attachment support system. These two and nine other modes can be registered on the monitor for easy fitting of attachments. The redesigned counterweight features LED in the tail lights, providing better visibility in poor light and requiring less maintenance.

“Like all Zaxis-6 wheeled excavators, the ZX190W-6 has been developed and designed in Japan with the help of European customers and built according to their needs,” says Burkhard Janssen, General Manager Product Management & Engineering at HCME. “It is easy to operate, maintain and manoeuvre on a wide variety of job sites.”
