New Platform for The Sports and Healthcare Industry

ISPO MUNICH, the world’s leading sports business platform not only presents new products and innovations from the Outdoor, Ski, Action and Performance Sports segments, but also sets new trends and opens up future markets. Last year marked the launch of a new success story, Healthstyle, the new platform for the sports and healthcare industry, which will be continued at ISPO MUNICH 2013 with a dedicated exhibition space in hall C1 as well as the 2nd Health Forum.

The newly developed ISPO Healthstyle concept offers sports and health companies and their experts the opportunity to gather information on the wide-ranging selection of products and services on the Healthstyle market, as well as expand their personal network. An exhibit space of 250 m2 is divided into three theme worlds “Sports & Performance”, “Activity & Comfort” and “Body & Care”, presenting innovative products from the hardware, apparel & textile, as well as accessories & services sectors. In addition, the “Healthstyle Action Point” is offering the more than 80,000 expected trade show visitors an extensive side event program with panel discussions, lectures and shows.

Healthstyle is synonymous for a new lifestyle combining sports and health. Sports are more than just exercise; they have become a health care topic increasingly requested as a service to maintain health and wellness. Product innovations, highquality design and new customer groups will drive the sporting goods market and health care industry, and motivate more people to stay fit. This new market segment revolving around the 2nd health care market is booming and, according to forecasts, will increase by 8.7 percent per year in the mid-term in Germany alone. By 2020 the estimate is at 100 billion Euro.

One of the highlights at ISPO MUNICH will be the 2nd ISPO Health Forum, held on February 5th, 2013 at the ICM - International Congress Center Munich. This globally leading event will host many high-caliber national and international interdisciplinary experts discussing the topic of sports and health. The program of the 2nd ISPO Health Forum, with participants from the sports retail, healthcare, sports industry, insurance and ICT industry sectors as well as political decision makers, features three primary panels:

The Industry Panel discusses how sports and health companies, the pharmaceutical industry and health insurance companies can jointly develop this newly created, growing market, and which alliances and collaborations will be necessary to support the “Healthstyle” lifestyle. The Product & Service Panel introduces the Healthstyle market’s products and services; and the Consumer Panel explains how “couch potatoes” can be motivated to add more physical activity to their every day and business routine. Of course, this year’s concept once again features an interactive format to endorse the creation of new business relationships, development of new products and distribution channels.
