Bavarian trailer manufacturer Kögel is once more providing a "wax truck" for the National Biathlon Team of the German Ski Association. From the official start of season in Östersund Sweden, the newly re-designed German Ski Association truck is again set to become the "Service Centre" for the German team. Already for the biathlon competition on Sunday, the technical assistance team of the German Ski Association, had an ideal working environment to prepare Andrea Henkel, Tina Bachmann, Simon Schempp and Erik Lesser for competition.
The Wax Truck, which was fitted out with the cooperation of sponsors Würth, MAN and Kögel, also saw successful service during last year's season. The service vehicle, equipped according to the requirements of the athletes and technical assistants that use it made a substantial contribution to the success of the national biathlon team. That is why the wax truck will also be serving the German team during the 2012/2013 World Cup.
The sturdy three-axle Kögel Box semi-trailer has excellent insulation. Its walls are made of multi-layer bonded panels. This means that the service team has ideal working conditions, even when temperatures outside are extremely low. The trailer is equipped with several grinding machines, as well as work stations for service technicians for waxing skis and preparing cross country skiers. The wax truck is also fitted out with ski racks, changing rooms and quiet rooms.
Kögel Box trailers are used throughout Europe for the transporting of sensitive goods where the protection of the load from environmental influences and theft is of prime importance.
"We are proud yet again to be providing the official equipment trailer for the German national skiing biathlon team", says Volker Seitz, Head of Communication at Kögel. "We are keeping our fingers crossed for our athletes, and wish them the very best of luck in this year's World Cup."
The biathletes will be hunting for World Cup points for the first time in an individual race at Östersund from Wednesday on.
