With the 4003-2 and 4003-2C, the Cirrus series is supplemented by two additional folding models. Whereas the Cirrus 4003-2 features an open, single tip 3,600 l hopper, the Cirrus 4003-2C is equipped with a closed, twin tip 4,000 l pressurised tank. With this dual hopper split in the ratio 60:40, two different types of seed or both seed and fertiliser can be applied as well as just one type of seed via the sowing coulter.
This folding model Cirrus is of particular interest to medium-sized farms which, in addition to the high efficiency created by the large hopper size and 4 m working width, have also to manage numerous road journeys between fields. As oppose to the larger Cirrus 6003-2/2C, it is, above all, the reduced power demand on the tractor that for medium sized farms is essential. The standard tractor for seed drilling on this farm size is often between 170 and 200 HP making them ideal for the Cirrus 4003-2 and 4003-2C.
With the Matrix tyres, the machine can travel on the road with a full hopper at 40 km/h. This is of special importance to farmers as it offers them road travel that is quick, safe and conforms legally. Also, from an agronomy point of view, the Matrix tyre offers many benefits as, thanks to the special Matrix profile, the strip-wise reconsolidation and large amount of fine soil left behind the wheels are decisive influencing factors for the optimum growth of the seed. The good self-driving effect of the 880 mm Matrix tyres is also key to the easy pull of the total seed drill combination. As an alternative to the Matrix tyres, this model can also be ordered with the less expensive AS tyres.
