Wirtgen: The small milling machine W 50 Ri makes its debut

Wirtgen GmbH will be unveiling the W 50 Ri, a model in the new small milling machine generation, to trade visitors in Germany. The entirely new and striking design harbours a cornucopia of technical innovations that result in enhanced performance, greater productivity and maximum ease-of-operation. Wirtgen's brand new in-house development LEVEL PRO PLUS (a levelling system), which is fully integrated in the machine control system, supports intuitive and simple operation to produce precise and high-quality milling results. The generous locking angle on either side results in extremely small turning radii that make working on cramped job sites so much easier.  The automatic tracking function of the rear inner wheel when folded in likewise increases the manoeuvrability of these small milling machines.

The driving dynamics package oft he W 50 Ri enables speeds of up to 12 km/h in the four-wheel version, the engine speed is automatically adapted to current requirements, yielding huge fuel savings despite the high engine output of 105 KW/143 BHP. Moreover, three individually variable milling drum speeds each ensure an ideal milling performance for a broad range of applications.

The fact that using the W 50 Ri can speed up completion of a project by as much as 20 % makes these cold milling machines a key factor for success in road rehabilitation.

Vögele: SUPER 1800-3i, the innovative tracked paver

The Vögele SUPER 1800 class is legendary. No other asphalt paver enjoys greater popularity amongst professional road building contractors the world over. When developing the SUPER 1800-3i, it was possible to retain the dimensions of the previous model, despite the introduction of entirely new drive technology. As a result, this paver in the Universal Class follows on from its predecessor seamlessly, offering all of the latter's time-tested advantages.

When developing this road paver, a special focus was on ergonomic, economic and ecological aspects. The “Vögele EcoPlus” package, for instance, significantly reduces both fuel consumption and noise levels. The Vögele ErgoPlus 3 operating system has been supplemented by numerous ergonomic and functional features for the “Dash 3” generation. The paver operator‘s console, for example, comes with a large colour display which provides brilliant readability even in poor lighting conditions.

With a maximum pave width of 10 m and a machine length of just 6 m, the SUPER 1800-3i handles motorway projects, rural roads or the surfacing of large areas with the same high perfection as it copes with confined spaces when tackling roundabouts.

Hamm: HD CompactLine continues on the road to success

Weighing between 1.4 and 4.2 t, the tandem rollers in the HD CompactLine are prized for their unique visibility as well as their great agility and maneuvrability. The low machine height and intuitive operation are added advantages. Featuring new configuration options such as cabins or chip spreaders and environmentally friendly, quiet Kubota engines, the compact articulated rollers remain cutting-edge in 2014. They are particularly popular on cramped sites, where they can compact subgrades and base courses as well as standard and special asphalts. In gardening and landscaping applications, they compact non-cohesive soils such as cut rock, gravel or sand, equally reliably.

At NordBau, Hamm will be showcasing the HD 14 VV, the largest roller in this series. It excels on large and small job sites alike. Its compaction performances are comparable with rollers in the 7-tonne class, thanks to the large drum diameter and a very high centrifugal force. The HD 14 VV hence makes a good alternative to classic medium-weight tandem rollers, particularly in the version with a cabin, and is a welcome addition to any machine fleet.

Kleemann:  jaw crusher MC 100 R EVO celebrates its German premiere

The MOBICAT MC 100 R EVO is the smallest plant of Kleemann's comprehensive range of mobile jaw crushers and is the fourth new development in the Kleemann EVO Line. The MC 100 R is based on the MC 110 R and, like all other plants in the Kleemann EVO Line, boasts the very efficient drive concept with crusher direct drive, as well as electric drives for the chutes and conveyor belts. And there is also no lack of power with the new plant: With its 165 kW, the plant has sufficient power to process up to 200 tons of material per hour. The crusher itself has an inlet width of 950 mm x 550 mm and, like the MC 110, has a high-raised articulated crusher jaw. Blockages in the crusher area are thus avoided and the material feed characteristics are significantly improved.

The transport weight of the plant also plays a very important role in this class. Here the MC 100 R impresses with its weight of 30 tons (excl. options) and is thus approx. 20 % lighter in comparison to its predecessor machine. And the setup on the construction site is also very simple. With the hopper walls integrated in the chassis it is no longer necessary to fold the hopper walls and the machine is virtually ready for operation straight away. Despite the relatively small size, there is the possibility to individually adapt the plant to customer requirements with numerous innovative options. For example, the plant can be equipped with an electric or permanent magnet, an extended side discharge conveyor or belt conveyor or the material flow can be further improved with the Continuous Feed System (CFS) for permanent crusher loading.

Premiere: Special service exhibition

Alongside the exhibited machines from the four product brands, the Wirtgen Group will also be presenting the first ever special exhibition focussing on the topic of service in Neumünster. Visitors can look forward to a selection of extensive services, products and technologies from the Wirtgen Group – ranging from original spare parts via WITOS Fleet View and WITOS Smart Service to lubricants and cutting technology.

The systems for loading milled material on the W 50 Ri/W 60 Ri have been thoroughly optimized to maximize performance as well as functionality. A large slewing angle, handy quick-change coupling and the hydraulically operated folding conveyor greatly facilitate the work process.

Highest process safety, less fuel consumption, more operator comfort. These are characteristics of the “Dash 3” paver generation made by Vögele.

The rollers in Hamm's HD CompactLine offer excellent visibility and are agile and manoeuvrable. These strengths are particularly invaluable on cramped job sites. The machines are available as vibratory, oscillating and combination rollers.

The MC 100 R EVO completes the offering of Kleemann in the area of mobile jaw crushers.
