OVER 100 ATTEND GRADALL EVENT LAUNCHING DISCOVERY SERIES EXCAVATORS

Gradall Industries, Inc., unveiled the industry’s first crossover hydraulic excavators, the Discovery Series, as well as the new Gradall Series V excavator models during a dramatic event held at Sea World in Orlando, Florida. 

Held February 9, the event was attended by representatives of the entire U.S. network of authorized Gradall excavator distributors. Originally planned at Discovery Cove, an outdoor venue owned by Sea World and located nearby, rain moved into Orlando early in the day. So Michael Norman, Gradall's Director of Marketing and Sales, handled a quick, same-day venue switch to another property — Sea World Sea Harbor Pavilion. Norman had machines, collateral and catering services moved, re-directed attendee transportation, ordered an email alert sent and, as a result, the big event came off without a hitch.

Discovery Series excavators combine the versatility benefits of Gradall's world-famous full-tilting, telescoping boom with the reliable over-the-road mobility of a Freightliner truck chassis. Two Discovery Series models, the D152 with two-wheel-drive and the D154 with four-wheel-drive, provide great productivity on a wide range of jobs, allowing more work with fewer machines.

The six new Series V excavators introduced at the event have a Volvo Tier 4-Final compliant diesel engines that meet the highest global standards including Stage IV (EU) and Tier 4 Final (U.S.) emissions reduction requirements. Also, fuel efficiency is improved by up to 5%.

Prior to the event, editors of all of the leading construction equipment trade magazines attended a press conference before they, too, attended the distributor event. Guests were able to view the machines, enjoy food and refreshments and receive take away materials about the new products.

Mike Popovich, Vice President of Gradall Excavator Products, and Mike Haberman, President of Gradall Industries, spoke to the distributors about the new sales opportunities the new products present. They also explained the partnership between Gradall and Volvo Penta engines for the Series V models.
