PALFINGER gives a glimpse of the hookloader control unit of the future

A prototype of a digital 3D camera system, installed on a PH T20A TEC5 hookloader, will be presented at bauma 2019.

The PH T20A TEC5 hookloader is the perfect choice for operation at construction sites. The combination of a telescopic arm with an articulating function allows it to pull on the container at a very flat angle during the loading procedure. This is especially important for construction waste containers due to their low-walled design.

TEC5 variant with PAD-Touch control unit

In the TEC5 variant on show, the hookloader is equipped with the innovative cabin controller PAD-Touch, which combines two control concepts: the load-moving tasks are controlled by a compact joystick terminal, while all additional functions are operated via the touchscreen, which can also be connected to one or more rear cameras to ensure maximum user-friendliness.

To demonstrate the additional functionalities the PAD-Touch control unit offers with its 7” touchscreen, the carrier vehicle of the PH T20A TEC5 is fitted with the “Luis Turn Detect” turning assistant system from LUIS Technology, which is integrated into the screen of the PAD-Touch control unit.

Prototype: Intelligent Loading Assist

PALFINGER is presenting for the first time a prototype of the newly developed and patented Intelligent Loading Assist system at bauma 2019. Using a digital 3D camera attached to the rear, the system actively detects the container and semi-automatically steers the hookarm into the correct take-on position. The screen of the PAD-Touch control unit also helps the operator to correctly approach the container, while potential obstacles or humans in the danger zone will be detected via the integrated object detector.

The Intelligent Loading Assist system in conjunction with the PAD-Touch control unit thus helps to enhance operational safety during the handling of containers and reduces the requirements to be met by the operator to controlling the vehicle only.

PALFINGER telematics solution for hookloaders and skiploaders

Additionally the hookloader and skiploader vehicles can now be integrated in the PALFINGER fleet monitor system. PALFINGER will be showcasing the PALFINGER fleet monitor system and a range of additional digital systems in its innovation area, a zone dedicated to digitalisation and services.

The new PALFINGER skiploader: PS T14 TEC3

The new PALFINGER skiploader PS T14 TEC3 will also be presented at the bauma 2019 main stand. The premium model in the series of PALFINGER skiploaders is intended for use on two-axle vehicles (4x2 / 4x4).

The compact design of the new PALFINGER skiploader makes it ideal for work in confined urban areas. The container’s hydraulic platform locking system, which is available in three different versions, ensures maximum safety during transportation. This is also confirmed by certification by TÜV South. The TEC 3 skiploaders variant are fitted as standard with a radio remote control and can be modified to meet all kinds of customer requirements thanks to a wide range of ordering options.

Among other things, PALFINGER offers ex works the fully automatic container cover system PALCOVER, which significantly enhances the operational safety of skiploader and hookloader vehicles. Operators no longer have to manually cover containers with nets or tarpaulins, which enhances safety for the operator.
