In challenging situations the remote solution with real-time transmission and augmented reality function is a safe and efficient service tool: the technicians still have their hands free to work while receiving audio and video support.
Smart Eye is the name of the new digital tool from PALFINGER that was developed to support the work of service technicians in the field. The innovative support tool helps to diagnose faults more quickly and supports all possible repairs. The tool therefore maximize the uptime of PALFINGER products and thus helps customers and service partners to save time and money.
Four eyes are better than two
Once a fault has been located, it needs to be rectified as soon as possible. Smart Eye, a pair of glasses with a built-in camera, is a very useful tool in this process. The service technician puts on the glasses and connects with a service expert. The specialist sees the same thing than the service technician on the display – no matter how far away he is. The specialist can support the work on PALFINGER products and provides assistance in real time. The main advantage is that the service technician receives the necessary advice and instructions directly via the augmented reality glasses equipped with speakers and a microphone. In order to prevent language problems, high-resolution graphics are displayed as well as verbal communication.
