The most flexible Rockster solution – R800/900 Duplex with a new screening system

PEYRET FERRER SL is a family owned company in the North East corner of Spain founded in 1920. They had their main focus in traditional farming machinery rental and had more and more requests for crushing excess farmland rocks, left over every year on the fields as they were cleared for crop harvest. The area is famous for the round boulders you usually find in river beds. PEYRET searched for a good solution to process these boulders and got in touch with Rockster country manager for Spain, Perry Holt, and bought a DUPLEX R800/R900 jaw/impactor crusher in 2011.

Impressed by the DUPLEX system

José Peyret, CEO of PEYRET FERRER SL, tells: “First of all I didn’t know what I can do with two different crushing units, one jaw and one impact crusher. But then I explored all the advantages of this flexible two-in-one solution and now I really appreciate it. I am much more flexible and can reduce the abrasive boulders with the jaw and then get the final cubic material, which can be used for high grade road surfaces.” He expanded to contract business and was bidding on many jobs in his local area, crushing material for using as base road gravel for many industrial warehouses being built in and around the Aragon area.

Request for extension thanks to booming business

José Peyret was very successful in his new area of processing and recycling, the demand for projects in fields of road maintenance, road building or demolition was growing from year to year and due to high needs for fine grade product he decided to add a screening system to his crusher. As this old DUPLEX machine was originally not constructed to use it with screen box and return belt it was a challenge to implement the system and integrate the automatic hydraulic placement of the screen box. An easy retracting of the return belt for both – working and transport position – was also essential for José. An experienced Rockster technician did all the adaptions needed, so they can use the DUPLEX system now with a new screen box RS83 and return belt RB75.

Operating the jaw crusher with screening system

Especially for processing of virgin stone like the boulders, PEYRET prefers using the jaw crusher and additionally the screening system. “It is not so common to process material with jaw and screen on one machine, but José is very convinced of this combination and receives high quality final grain sized 0-40mm,“ says Perry Holt. José Peyret adds: “My Rockster plant started as a simple crusher and now I have all the possible components for a full operating gravel yard. It’s primary crusher, secondary crusher and screen – all in one machine. I am more than satisfied with my investment.”
