Innovative nozzle concepts, updates for internal cleaning, and Dropleg Beluga now also for fertilization
At AGRITECHNICA, agrotop is presenting a series of exciting advancements in crop protection technology. The focus is on practical innovations for farmers and contractors that enable more precise application, higher efficiency, and a more sustainable use of crop protection products and fertilizers.
Overview of new features:
80° nozzles for 25 cm nozzle spacing
A nozzle spacing of 25 cm has been recommended as an additional standard in crop protection technology for many years. Up until now, 110° nozzles have been used predominantly. In extensive trials, agrotop has now demonstrated that 80° nozzles achieve significantly better crop penetration, especially in dense canopies. At the same time, the nozzles proved to be highly drift-resistant: with the CVI 80-02, the JKI confirmed a 90% drift reduction at pressures of up to 8 bar. For cost-effective entry, the proven AirMix nozzles are now also available in an 80° version. The AM 80-02 has already received a 90% drift reduction approval up to 6 bar, and the same recognition is expected for the AM 80-025. The TurboDrop series has also been expanded with a new 80° variant, successfully launched on the market. In countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands, and France, the combination of 80° nozzles with 25 cm spacing is already officially recognized as drift-reducing technology.

Innovative nozzles for PWM systems
Crop protection sprayers with PWM systems are becoming increasingly widespread. However, conventional injector nozzles cannot be used with them. As one of the first manufacturers, agrotop has therefore developed the SoftDrop nozzle – a solution designed specifically for PWM systems, already recognized by the JKI and listed with 90% drift reduction. In addition, the BPDF nozzles were introduced, which can be used either individually as a flat fan nozzle or in a special cap as a twin flat fan nozzle. In this combination, they generate the same proven spray pattern (10° forward / 50° backward) already known from the HiSpeed series. This makes twin flat fan technology available for use with PWM systems as well.

Safe and ready for every application – agrotop’s new Closed Transfer Systems (CTS)
The safe and contamination-free filling of sprayers is becoming increasingly important. In addition to the well-known easyFlow system for canisters up to 20 liters, agrotop now also offers solutions for drums and IBCs. With the VacuFill system, crop protection products can be dosed easily and precisely using negative pressure. For even more automation, the QuantoFill M dosing system is available, allowing dosing from up to five IBCs or drums while automatically managing rinsing between operations. This saves time, reduces contamination risks, and prevents operator errors such as incorrect dosing or filling sequence.

Continuous internal cleaning for robots and spot-spraying systems
Continuous internal cleaning has proven itself in practice and has been successfully offered by agrotop for years as a retrofit solution. Different pump and nozzle sizes allow use in equipment ranging from 600 liters to more than 12,000 liters tank capacity. A major advantage is operation directly from the cab, so the operator does not need to enter the treated crop. As spot and row treatment devices – often robotic – are increasingly entering the market, agrotop now offers compact retrofit kits with electrically driven 12V pumps. These are also suitable for machines with low hydraulic power and enable safe cleaning.

Dropleg® Beluga gains traction – now also for fertilization
The Dropleg® Beluga trailing hose has become well established in Europe following its successful introduction in Canada. In Europe, it is used in particular for late herbicide applications in maize and in potato cultivation, where it ensures optimal deposition of remaining active ingredients. A new application field is opening up in fertilization: with a newly developed Y-distributor mounted at the end of the Dropleg® Beluga, liquid fertilizer can be applied precisely along the crop rows. This makes Dropleg® Beluga a universal trailing hose with versatile applications across different crops.
