Presentation of Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe

On its Saint-Dizier site in Haute-Marne, YANMAR Construction Equipment Europe SAS manufactures hydraulic mini excavators for construction, public works and landscaping markets. For the international company, Saint-Dizier is an ideal site, close to motorways that serve the entire European continent. This is essential when exports represent 66% of sales. The company sells to 160 partners and key accounts throughout Europe and also provides a spare parts service with a dedicated warehouse dispatching an average of 280 parcels / day. The Saint-Dizier plant manufactures 11 of the 17 models of mini-excavators sold. It also adapts machines made in Japan for the European market. YANMAR CEE completes its range with machines including mini loaders, dumpers and carriers. YANMAR Construction Equipment Europe SAS does not only sell machines, it sells solution packages with options, accessories, warranty extensions and financing solutions for the customer.

The company has 334 employees and is one of the largest and most modern production sites in Europe.

History of the company

Founded in 1989, the company has enjoyed several major development phases over 25 years and has managed to invest even during the most difficult periods.

1989: Creation of AMMANN-YANMAR as a joint-venture with Japanese manufacturer YANMAR and Swiss distributor AMMANN, world leader in coating plants and road construction products. At the time the Saint-Dizier site was a 1,500m² finishing workshop and distributed mini-excavators all over Europe.

2001: 1st extension phase. 16 million euros were invested in the Saint-Dizier site to create paint and assembly lines. The factory grew to 25,000m².

2007: 2nd extension phase. A €24 million investment enabled the integration of four mechanical welding workshops. The site was extended to 54,000m².

2010: AMMANN-YANMAR became YANMAR CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT EUROPE SAS. The two partners in the joint-venture separated to focus on their respective activities but remained associates on certain markets. The Saint-Dizier site was now 100% Japanese.

Driven by a desire to become global leader, the group continued its investments in the company.

In 2014, the company emerged from the recession. Over forty jobs had been created over the previous two years and the company entered a new investment cycle to develop its sales strategy.

Establishment of the Europe sales office in Reims-Bezannes

This project is part of the company's sales development strategy. The new offices cover a total of 416m² in the Reims-Bezannes business park and are in an ideal location for customer visits. Close to the Champagne-Ardenne high-speed TGV train station, on the main motorways and near Charles de Gaulle airport (30 minutes), the new offices provide ideal conditions for welcoming our European partners and customers.

The new sales hub will allow us to improve product presentation, with better availability for our resellers so we can develop new products and services together.

As well as these improved access and hosting conditions, Reims can provide specialized local human resources thanks to the nearby business schools and the local mid-sized business environment specialized in the back office sectors.

This new hub opens new doors to the future and the brand's expansion into new territories (Russia, Africa and around the Mediterranean).
