Preview: BAUER Maschinen Group at Bauma China

Bauma China will be taking place from November 22 to 25, 2016. Over 2,400 exhibitors have registered for the eighth edition of the international exhibition for construction machinery at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The organizers are expecting around 180,000 visitors. The BAUER Maschinen Group (booth A.06 and A.13) will again be participating with several exhibits – after all BAUER Maschinen GmbH has been present in the Chinese market for 25 years. A BAUER BG 30 rotary drilling rig on a BT 80 base carrier, newly developed by Bauer, will be on display, as well as a GB 50 grab, which, as the successor to the GB 46, is the newest generation of the hydraulic grab from Bauer, and a KR 805-2 drilling rig from the subsidiary KLEMM Bohrtechnik GmbH.

Bauma China has established itself as a firm fixture in the exhibition calendar for BAUER Maschinen GmbH. "The exhibition is a big event, and attracts interest far beyond the Chinese market," explains Dieter Stetter, Managing Director of BAUER Maschinen GmbH. "We are looking forward to once again meeting customers, friends and long-term partners at our booth."

Bauer has been active in China for a quarter of a century. In 1991 Bauer opened its first office in Beijing. This was followed by machinery plants in Shanghai and Tianjin. In 2016 Bauer decided to focus production at its plant in Tianjin, and service and maintenance work in Shanghai, in order to provide machinery customers throughout China with better service and shorter repair times. Bauer sales and service teams are represented throughout the country in different offices, such as Guangzhou, Wuhan and Nanning.

More than 600 Bauer machines have been sold in China and are being used with great success, in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, for example. Following a landslide, several Bauer BG's are now being used to install a pile wall in order to stabilize the site. In Nanjing, the second largest city in eastern China, three Bauer cutters are building a diaphragm wall as foundation for a skyscraper. In January of this year, Bauer machinery and personnel helped with the successful rescue of four mine workers, who had been buried alive in a mine at a depth of 212 meters, at the Pingyi gypsum mine in the province of Shandong.

"Although the economic climate in China is currently somewhat bleak, for our business we see a positive trend for the future," says Dieter Stetter. The reason for this is measures planned by the Chinese government in the area of infrastructure – according to the 13th Five Year Plan, approximately 650 billion US dollars are to be spent by 2020 on the expansion of the railway system. In addition, the road system is also to be expanded. "For all these measures, equipment will be required, such as to improve the ground or to build foundations for bridges. With our comprehensive range of specialist foundation engineering equipment, our many years of experience and also our customer service on site, we will certainly attract interest."
