Product Group Mining meets in Sevilla

• The Product Group Mining convened in Seville during Spain's largest mining exhibition, MMH, for an in-person meeting.

• Discussions included updates on CECE Mining activities and analysis of raw materials policies like CRMA and ResourcEU, with focus on the Critical Raw Materials Centre.

• Presentations highlighted Global Gateway initiatives, including EU support for the Viridis rare earth project and upcoming EU Argentina Business Forum.

• The meeting concluded with an invitation to the EU Raw Materials Week in Brussels in January 2027, where CECE will actively participate.

On 20th October the Product Group (PG) Mining gathered for an in person meeting in Seville, inside the premises of MMH the largest mining exhibition in Spain.

The meeting started with an update on recent activities of CECE Mining followed by a policy update that analysed the impact of key raw materials policy initiatives like the CRMA and ResourcEU. Participants showed particular interest in the role and financial means of the upcoming Critical Raw Materials Centre.

Next was a presentation about Global Gateway related activities. First came the summary of the EU Brazil Business Forum that happened in June during which EU Commissioner Jozef Sikela announced the EU support for Viridis rare earth element project in Pocos de Caldas. The next even tin the Global Gateway calendar is the EU Argentina Business Forum happening 30th November – 1st December in Buenos Aires.

The meeting ended with an invitation to join the next edition of the EU Raw Materials Week scheduled for 26-28 January 2027 in Brussels. Like every year CECE and its members will be present and actively contributing to the event.
