Rapid voted best seed drill

Väderstad’s Rapid seed drill has been voted “Best seed drill in Russia” in a survey run by the Institute of Science and Technology and agricultural colleges throughout Russia.

“We are incredibly grateful for this award and we are delighted that Russian farmers appreciate the flexibility of our seed drill and its consistent precision in drilling at high speed”, said Anatoliy Khan, MD for Väderstad in Russia.

The winning result was obtained in a comprehensive survey of farmers geographically distributed across Russia. Over 1300 farmers took part in the survey, and among 161 different seed drills, Rapid was voted as being the best performing drill.

“The durability, increased yield level and decreased need for soil cultivation before drilling, are believed to lie behind the winning place when farmers were asked to vote” said Philip Westman, who is responsible for the Russian market at Väderstad-Verken.

“It is particularly gratifying that the Swedish company Väderstad won the seed drill category, since seven out of nine categories went to domestic producers” added Philip Westman.

“Rapid has been on sale in Russia for a decade or so and has a market leading position. Many farmers have increased their yields significantly simply by changing to Rapid” said Philip Westman.

The award was made in Moscow on Friday 11th October at the Agro-Tech agricultural exhibition, part of Golden Autumn.
