recycling aktiv and TiefbauLive double-bill trade fair at the fairgrounds in Karlsruhe from 2017

The Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress-GmbH (KMK) and the organisers of the recycling aktiv and TiefbauLive double-bill exhibition, GEOPLAN GmbH from Iffezheim, agreed on a new venue for the future. From 27–29.04.2017 the exhibition duo will for the first time open its doors at the Messe Karlsruhe fairgrounds where it will then take place every two years as usual.

In the words of the Messe Karlsruhe managing director Britta Wirtz: “I am personally very pleased that this cooperation will come to fruition. The KMK gains an event which serves two exciting industries at the same time and fits perfectly into its portfolio. GEOPLAN is a professional and reliable cooperation partner who strategically and innovatively develops the projects with technical excellence. Together, we will build on the recent successes of recycling aktiv and TiefbauLive.”

Dr.-Ing. Friedhelm Rese, Managing Partner of GEOPLAN, on the future cooperation: “As the ‘inventor’ of recycling aktiv and long-standing, executive partner of TiefbauLive we are understandably very keen that the effort invested thus far in the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre will continue and that the events continue to develop so positively. The KMK management has convinced me that our shows have the perfect platform in Karlsruhe. I look forward to the cooperation and I am excited to see what strategic levers we can apply together.”

The conceptual sponsor TiefbauLive - the German Association for Construction Industry Engineers and Professionals (VDBUM) and the many other organisations that actively give their ongoing support to recycling aktiv and TiefbauLive have again signalled their willingness to get involved in the 2017 double-bill exhibition.

The first recycling aktiv took place in 2007, and it was expanded in 2011 to include the parallel-running event TiefbauLive. In June 2015, the trade fair duo was presented for the fourth time at the Baden-Airpark under the slogan ‘Two trade fairs – one location – one date’ and set a record with 12,400 visitors and more than 200 exhibitors.

Dr.-Ing. Friedhelm Rese’s opinion of this success: “Characteristic of the two events is that they are designed by practitioners for practitioners. This means that the performance of a large number of the machines on show can also be experienced in practical demonstrations. This convinces and attracts decision-makers from the recycling, road construction and civil engineering industries. But of course, that also requires a terrain that can handle these live demos.” 20,000 square metres of demonstration areas alone where machinery can be operated are needed. This is only possible with a correspondingly large outdoor area and on surfaces that are not sealed. In addition, equipment noise and dust clouds may not inconvenience other residents in the area. “This is where our fairgrounds can really show what it has to offer,” says Britta Wirtz, “and where it will score points with its clear logistics and directly adjacent, large outdoor area.”
